DOWNTON ABBEY! AMERICAN HORROR STORY! DALLAS! ARCHER! SURVIVOR! CULT! The TV Addict Week in Rewind
Coolest Casting: Ryan Murphy revealed that Kathy Bates has been cast in season three of AMERICAN HORROR STORY as a character “five times meaner than her Misery character!
Worst Trend: DOWNTON ABBEY’s duplicitous Ms. O’Brien (Siobhan Finneran) is following in Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) and Lady Sybil’s (Jessica Brown Findlay) footsteps by announcing her exit from the hit UK series.
Most Surprising News: The CW announced 90210 would end after this season. Oh, that wasn’t the shocker. For most of us, it was that this show is still on the air.
Smartest Move: With ratings down so far this season, TNT put the past six episodes of DALLAS on-line in the hope of getting people interested in (and caught up on) the drama before the highly-anticipated funeral of the late Larry Hagman’s alter ego, J.R. Ewing.
Why The Soap Fan In Your Life Celebrated This Week: ALL MY CHILDREN — the legendary soap ABC foolishly canceled — went back into production this week in preparation for a return (via Hulu) later this spring. ONE LIFE TO LIVE is expected to begin production in two weeks.
Most Mixed Message: Although Netflix’ president said there wouldn’t be a second season of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, a spokesperson kept hope alive by saying that decision wasn’t carved in stone.
Least Aware: SURVIVOR’s Shamar insisted he didn’t want to be labeled as the show’s “angry black guy,” yet his behavior pretty much assured that’s how he’ll be remembered. [Read more…]

We Shine the Spotlight on CULT Star Robert Knepper
The new CW drama series CULT takes viewers into an unusual world of two different realities – one fictional and one real in the same show. So CULT offers a peek behind the curtain as it features a mystery story surrounding a fictional TV show that seems to bleed-over into the real world. Playing two characters in one show, star Robert Knepper portrays the actor Roger Reeves, who plays the fictional Billy Grimm a cult-leader in the popular TV show “Cult.” But the fans of Roger Reeve’s show have taken the fictional world a bit too seriously, and when a string of murders is revealed, no one quite knows what to think about the actors who portray members of the TV cult. At the WB Mondo International Press Tour, Robert Knepper shared a bit of insight on what it is like to have played a variety of television characters, who are so larger-than-life and cult-like in their own way, that it sometimes colors the reactions his own fans. Stars Jamie Bamber and Jennifer Finnigan Talk About Their New TNT Medical Drama MONDAY MORNINGS
Coming from famed drama creator David E. Kelley, MONDAY MORNINGS showcases the internal trials of doctors held accountable by their peers for their mistakes and on-the-spot judgment calls both in and out of the operating room. With medical malpractice cases on the rise, internal review is more critical than ever. So pulling back the curtain on this time-honored tradition, David E. Kelley along with co-creator Sanjay Gupta, and his strong cast of stars, have brought the medical drama MONDAY MORNINGS to life for TNT. In a recent press conference call, stars Jamie Bamber and Jennifer Finnigan shared what drew them to the role, the tricky parts of mastering medical dialogue and procedure, and what they think makes their show special. SCANDAL! GREY’S ANATOMY! DOWNTON ABBEY! THE VAMPIRE DIARIES! GENERAL HOSPITAL! The TV Addict Week in Rewind
Least Likely To Be In On A Joke: ABC’s Scranton affiliate won’t run an ad for the fictional Dunder Mifflin paper company during the Oscars because it doesn’t want to promote NBC’s THE OFFICE. You know, a show that’s about to end and therefore presents no future threat to their ratings?
Most Coveted Import: Forget those “reports” that Welsh hunk Tom Ellis was going to help DOWNTON ABBEY’s Lady Mary get over Matthew’s death. TVLine says that instead, he’ll be heading to the spook opera GOTHICA.
Best Flashback: Longtime GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers are thrilled that everything old is new again now that the show is revisiting the legendary Luke/Laura/Scott triangle.
Why We Are Terrible People: Fine, we’ll admit it… the Radaronline.com claim that THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS producers are working overtime to get LeAnn Rimes to join the cast (which would put the current Mrs. Eddie Cibrian on the same show as the former title holder whom he dumped for her) made us damn near giddy. Go ahead, sue us. (No wait, don’t, Adrianne Maloof!)
Most Awkward Twist: For the second time, SURVIVOR’s Francesca was the first person voted off by her tribe. (On the plus side, she at least got to hear Phillip pronounce her name correctly before leaving!) [Read more…]
