In tonight’s episode of WAREHOUSE 13, Douglas Fargo (played by Neil Grayston) returns to WAREHOUSE 13 for a fun adventure in the digital zone as a video game starts up a special game of its own with Claudia, Fargo, Pete and Myka as its principal players. Taking a few minutes to chat with press about the episode, Allison Scagliotti talked about her expanding role as Warehouse Agent Claudia Donovan and the fun of working on such a wickedly zany show.
What has it been like to work with work with Neil Grayston again on WAREHOUSE 13 and what can you tell us about the upcoming episode?
ALLISON: It’s always a pleasure to work with Neil. I’ve said in the past, Neil is one of my best friends, and so having the opportunity to work with him on set is just a joy. It’s like summer camp, but we’re getting paid to run around in crazy costumes. He is an incredibly professional, hilarious comedic, as well as dramatic, actor and is never afraid to have fun. I think I speak for the entire cast and crew of WAREHOUSE 13 when I say that being able to bring Neil Grayston onto the show is nothing but fun. And in terms of this episode, this is probably our biggest concept episode that we’ve ever done. There was a lot of green screen, a lot of special effects. It’s airing sixth in our season but we shot it third in terms of shooting order because there were so many elements to capture and it took a lot of prep and we were directed by the incredibly gifted Chris Fisher, who’s also our supervising producer. And I can honestly say it’s my favorite episode this season so far anyway. [Read more…]

Lamenting EUREKA’s Cancellation and the Frustrations That Comes With the Dwindling Number of Sci-Fi Shows on Television
When it was announced last week that Syfy would only be ordering a limited run of 6 episodes of EUREKA for its sixth season, there was an immediate outcry from fans and bewildered viewers. Why the limited number of episodes? And was that Syfy’s way of unofficially cancelling the show?
Alas, this week the news was far worse, Syfy had rescinded its offer of a 6-episode 6th season. Instead, it officially announced that EUREKA’s fifth season would be its last. The ‘cancellation ax’ had finally fallen on a beloved sci-fi series. But even as viewers brought their frustrations and anguish to the digital airwaves, critics were scratching their heads for EUREKA had been a consistently high-ranked performer for Syfy for the past 5 years. What could have possibly happened to justify such an abrupt announcement?
Then as those who worked on the show slowly began issuing statements and information began trickling out, it became clear that Syfy was dissatisfied with the cost of such an expensive show. EUREKA with all its fancy imagery of a fictional town where just about anything could happen, just could not sustain itself financially. Its consistent 2 million viewers, while a high number for a Syfy show, was not enough to make the show economically viable any longer. Syfy was cutting ties simply because of the high cost of making such an effects-laden science fiction show. [Read more…]
Tiffani Thiessen Talks About Her Fun Role Amongst the WHITE COLLAR Cons and Capers
Just in time for WHITE COLLAR’s mid-season finale on August 9th, Tiffani Thiessen took a few minutes to talk with press about what she loves about Elizabeth and Peter’s relationship, what Elizabeth would have done if she had found out about the treasure, and whether she is on to Neal’s shenanigans.
Where does Elizabeth stand on the latest developments in the relationship between Neal and Peter?
TIFFANI: I always try to think that she really tries to stay right in the middle. I mean, of course her first priority is she always stands by her husband. But I’ve always thought that Elizabeth really kind of has a soft-spot for Neal and sees the good in Neal probably more often than Peter does. But I think with the questions that are surrounding the whole scenario with the treasure, she’s kind of [questioning it] as well. You’ll see in the episode in the [mid-season] finale that a lot of those answers get answered, as well as some new drama unfolds with it.
Although Elizabeth isn’t part of the FBI or a professional con man herself, what is it about her character that allows her to contribute to certain investigations?
TIFFANI: I’ve always said that Elizabeth kind of is the voice of reason. She’s got the woman’s intuition that plays greatly into the show. She is definitely kind of the middle person between Peter and Neal at times when they kind of are butting heads. So I definitely believe that she kind of helps bridge the gap at times between the two of them. [Read more…]
DESPERATE No More! Felicity Huffman Reflects on the End of an Era and Teases HOUSEWIVES’ Cougarlicious Final Season
For seven seasons Lynette Scavo was almost single-handedly responsible for raising countless kids amidst marital strife, murder and mayhem. Unfortunately for said aforementioned housewife, this season will bring with it its biggest challenge yet: Looming unemployment.
Yes, after months or rumors and speculation the woman of Wisteria Lane will get a much-deserved reprieve from what has to be one of the country’s most ill-fated addresses as President of ABC Entertainment Paul Lee confirmed during this weekend’s executive session at the 2011 Television Critics Association Press Tour in Los Angeles that the upcoming eighth season of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES will be its last.
“I did that weird thing when you hear big news where you sort of distance yourself from it. I was with my friend [actress] Sarah Paulson who kept going, ‘How are you feeling, what’s going on, how are you feeling?’,” explained Felicity Huffman during an ABC’s cocktail party. “Then I went home, was really sad and I cried. I cried at the kitchen table with Bill [Husband William H. Macy] and then my daughter came in and asked what’s going on and he said ‘Her job is ending,’ and she went, “Oh Mamma, you’re gonna work again!’ I was like, I wish you were my agent.” [Read more…]
We Get to the Bottom of WEEDS’ Uncertain Future on Showtime
Has WEEDS worn out its welcome? Not according to David Nevins, President of Entertainment at Showtime.
“I think that show’s got life, real life in it and I feel like Jenji [Creator Jenji Kohan] has done a really great job of evolving her show, making it move in different places and reinventing it in really interesting ways every year.” said Nevins during his executive panel during last week’s Showtime portion of the 2011 Television Critics Association Press Tour in Los Angeles. “I haven’t picked it up yet, but I’m optimistic. It’s been an interesting year and I’m excited for people to sort of see where it goes by the end of the season as all the stories sort of coalesce.” [Read more…]
