Paley Festival 2012 Live Blog: PARKS AND RECREATION
7:34PM: Joining the jam-packed house at the legendary Saban Theater in Hollywood are executive producers Dean Holland, Dan Goor, co-creator Michael Schur, Retta (Donna Meagle), Jim O’Heir (Jerry Gergish), Chris Pratt (Andy Dwyer) and Amy Poehler (Leslie Knope). Also joining members of the cast and creative team are cardboard cutouts of cast members missing in action, including Aziz Ansari, Rob Lowe, Aubrey Plaza, and Adam Scott. Not included was Nick Offerman, who hoped to make it despite shooting a movie in nearby Burbank (He didn’t!).
7:35PM: “I think that Ben is the love of Leslie’s life,” says Amy Poehler with regards to her on screen love life. “And I think this season was really great because Mike [Schur] and all the writers did such a good job of exquisitely torturing us by pulling them apart and pushing them together. It was really great to get to play really big comedic moments and then really small lovely moments.”
7:36PM: Apparently, one of the working titles for the show when Greg Daniels and Michael Schur were tossing around ideas was THE EDUCATION OF LESLIE KNOPE. “The idea was that you’d follow Leslie’s professional and personal growth as a human with the original pitch being that Leslie would have a series of relationships with different kinds of guys,” says Schur. “But then we brought Adam Scott on board and we couldn’t break them up, they’re so good together and their backgrounds compliment each other perfectly.”
7:38PM: With so much of art and literature focusing on ‘making it in the big city,’ Amy Poehler believes there is something really sweet and moving about people deciding to be in love with their own small town. [Read more…]
Ask the Addict: Spoilers for THE GOOD WIFE, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, ONCE UPON A TIME, DEGRASSI, SUPERNATURAL & More!
Cannot wait for Sunday’s return of THE GOOD WIFE. Now that Will Gardner’s legal career seems to be back on track is there any hope at all for a rekindling of his relationship with Alicia? — Brandon
The TV Addict: We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but at what point exactly did it become clear that Will’s professional problems are over? Oh sure, Wendy Scott Carr’s witch-hunt may have wrapped up, but as this Sunday’s episode clearly illustrates, Will isn’t quite out of the woods just yet. What’s more, fans can expect the fiasco that was the failure of Wendy Scott Carr’s investigation to have serious repercussions for both Lockhart Gardner and Peter Florrick’s State Attorney’s Office in terms of personal. Seriously surprising ones that we did not in a million years see coming.
I miss the old Alicia and Kalinda. Do you think there is any chance my two favorite female friends will ever be able to look past the ugliness of the first half of this season? — Amy
The TV Addict: Oddly enough, we’ve got some good news on the Alicia and Kalinda front. It would appear that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Or at least that’s our prediction based on a case that Alicia has been asked to handle that seems to set the table for a frenaissance in a future episode. Stay tuned.
DEGRASSI scoop please. — Lindsey
The TV Addict: As we are wont to do anytime we get a plea for intel on what trials and tribulations those maniacal DEGRASSI writers plan on putting your favorite student body through when the hit Canadian export returns next Friday February 24th, we sent out a quick feeler to our source on the set. Their response, “Expect a life-changing accident!” Read into that what you will. [Read more…]
Our Unabashed Love Letter to SMASH
In the weeks leading up to tonight’s much-anticipated premiere, SMASH has been called many things by many people. Thus, rather than parrot an endless array of reports that have all pretty much pegged the series as GLEE for grown-ups or NBC’s last great white hope, we thought we’d take the more personal approach by proudly proclaiming the series to be simply this: The most exciting thing to grace our small screen in quite some time. [Read more…]
HART OF DIXIE Spoiler Alert: Creator Leila Gerstein Dishes on Zoe’s “Big Choice”

A Farewell to CHUCK: The Little Spy Series that Could
Just like in the children’s tale of the “little engine that could,” CHUCK was a television show that kept on chugging away against all odds and carved out a place in television history by running five seasons on the sheer will-power of its fans. Millions of Subway sandwiches later, the fans are still passionately devoted to their show. Having coined the phrases: Nerd Herd, Buy More and Captain Awesome, as well as creating a whole new dialect comprised of “the Intersect”, “flashes” and “Jeffster” and redefining what it means when a TV show is “on the bubble,” CHUCK is now legendary. It not only created a universally-accepted and widely used lexicon, CHUCK also introduced characters which fans fell in love with from around the globe. As the cast will soon discover, fans are not quick to forget their beloved characters and the names: Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Morgan, Ellie, Awesome, Big Mike, Jeff, Lester, and General Beckman are sure to follow the actors throughout the rest of their careers. It is thus with fondness, warm hearts and more memories than we can count, that CHUCK celebrates its 2-hour series finale. Perhaps one day, fans across the world will ask each other, “Where were you when CHUCK ended?” Perhaps this ending is not as momentous as other world events, but for fans who have faithfully followed the series for the past 5 years, the end will be both heartbreaking and cheer-worthy — and, as any fan knows, the end is just the beginning. CHUCK’s fans share a passion and a collective love of life that cannot be suppressed. With the availability of DVD’s, fan sites and all the friendship that have blossomed from a common interest in the show, CHUCK is about to be immortalized — as it should be! [Read more…]

Cannot express how pleased I was to see theTVaddict.com jump on the SWITCHED AT BIRTH bandwagon earlier in the week. Gushing aside, any clues as to how serious Daphne and Wilke are going to get?
The TV Addict: Serious enough that the sources close to the production have let it slip that Producers are currently on the lookout for an actor to play Wilke’s dad! That’s the good news. With the bad news beings that whomever snags the part of Wilke’s dad may very soon be on the receiving end of a very upsetting phone call. Gulp! [Read more…]
