7:32PM: “He likes the show, he’s a great guy and a wonderful director,” said co-creator Steven Levitan on what brought BREAKING BAD’s Bryan Cranston to the show as a director. “It was a lot of pressure being directed by Bryan Cranston, because every time he gave you a note, you know he could do it better,” admitted Ty Burrell. Joked Eric Stonestreet, who also added that it was a nice full-circle moment having done a bit part on MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE when he was first starting out in the biz, “We love meth, so it really worked out.”
7:35PM: “Every morning I get to wake up and get to come to this job is a highlight,” was how Burrell characterized his favorite moments from this past season. Julie Bowen, who plays Burrell’s on-screen wife concurred, calling the table reads a sneak peek at just how much fun their week is going to be.

Situated together on the far right of the stage actors Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould, Ariel Winter and Sarah Hyland pretty much all agree that the show is their second family with Winter amazed at how fast time flies, Gould calling out his on-screen mother Julie Bowen for constantly fussing with his hair and Rodriguez crediting the older cast members — particularly Ed O’Neill — with helping him become a better actor. Sarah Shahi Previews a FAIRLY LEGAL Second Season Chock Full of Surprises
When Shakespeare advocated in “Henry VI” that all lawyers should be killed, he probably had no idea that his infamous words would ring throughout history. But in the world of Kate Reed, she took his words to heart and chose to be a mediator instead of following in the esteemed footsteps for her prestigious father, firmly believing that personal and legal disputes were best served outside of the courtroom. Alas, in the first season of FAIRLY LEGAL, Kate’s world was rocked to the core upon learning of her father’s untimely death.
After a tumultuous and, at vary times, comedic journey last season, the second season of FAIRLY LEGAL invites viewers back into Kate’s “Wizard of Oz” world, where she has her own versions of an evil witch (her stepmother and co-owner of her father’s firm, Lauren), a tin man (her ex-husband,, Justin), a cowardly lion (her faithful assistant, Leo), and now a straw man (the firm’s new partner, Ben). FAIRLY LEGAL is not so much a show focusing on legal cases, it is about Kate’s journey down her own personal “yellow brick road.” She must navigate the thorny obstacles thrown in her path and discover that the answers she seeks may have been with her all along.
In a recent conference call with press, star Sarah Shahi candidly shared what kind of journey Kate faces this season and how she adapts to the personal changes around her. [Read more…]

No word of a lie, our head is still ringing from the chorus of “Nooooooooooos” that emanated from last week’s PaleyFest panel celebrating the hit CW series!
Any chance Castle and Beckett will step-it-up during Monday’s episode involving a murder during a DANCING WITH THE STARS-esque competition? — Madison
The TV Addict: As much as we’re rooting for both Castle and Beckett to do the mambo of both the actual and the horizontal variety, both Castle and Beckett’s feet remain planted squarely on the floor during Monday’s episode. That said, if it’s any consolation, the March 19th episode does pay homage to one of our favorite syfy sci-fi shows, thanks to a mysterious murder that will have you wondering if you’ve accidentally stepped into an alternate universe.
Based on the previews for BONES much anticipated return, it looks as though Brennan may be giving birth in prison. Please tell me this blessed event doesn’t take place behind bars?! — Lisa
The TV Addict: Never fear! Despite what the promos might have you believe, the smarter-than-your-average-showrunners have whipped up a far more tender and touching scene for the birth of Booth and Brennan’s bundle of joy that we can pretty much guarantee will have you reaching for that box of kleenex that you keep next to your couch for very-special-episodes like this. And speaking of behind-bars… [Read more…]
Paley Festival 2012 Live Blog: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
8:00PM: Those joining THE VAMPIRE DIARIES PaleyFest Panel via Livestream are forced to wait a few minutes while the participants — including Executive Producer Julie Plec, actors Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert), Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore), Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore), Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes), Matthew Davis (Alaric Saltzman), Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett) and moderator Debra Birnbaum (TV Guide Magazine) — dish on “1912,” the Alaric-heavy episode that just finished screening. D’oh.
8:02PM: “We haven’t seen the last of the Originals,” teases Plec, before Candice Accola offers up her take on the increasingly interesting relationship between her character Caroline and Joseph Morgan’s Klaus. “Everyone’s excited about that whole relationship, but people seem to forget that Klaus’ hobby is murder and their entire relationship is based on manipulation. Talk about a terrible match.com profile.” Adds Somerhalder, “Aren’t all relationship based on manipulation.”
8:05PM: “There’s nothing better than being hung from the ceiling and tortured by another woman,” jokes Somerhalder on the topic of the recently released spoilerific photo that sees Damon at the mercy of a very angry Rebekah (Claire Holt). “As demented as you think Damon was in season one, or Stefan at the start of season three, these Originals have an appetite for destruction and they act on it.” Translation: Hell hath no fury like an Original such as Rebekah scorn! Dispatches From The Couch
You don’t need to be watching political debates or a cable news channel to know that there is a culture war brewing in our country. And while it’s been stoked in recent weeks by the Republican party’s seeming determination to make sure every woman in this country votes Democrat, it’s become increasingly clear that the culture war is not simply being fought in the political arena, but in some of the most unlikely places imaginable.

Paley Festival 2012 Live Blog: PARKS AND RECREATION
7:34PM: Joining the jam-packed house at the legendary Saban Theater in Hollywood are executive producers Dean Holland, Dan Goor, co-creator Michael Schur, Retta (Donna Meagle), Jim O’Heir (Jerry Gergish), Chris Pratt (Andy Dwyer) and Amy Poehler (Leslie Knope). Also joining members of the cast and creative team are cardboard cutouts of cast members missing in action, including Aziz Ansari, Rob Lowe, Aubrey Plaza, and Adam Scott. Not included was Nick Offerman, who hoped to make it despite shooting a movie in nearby Burbank (He didn’t!).
7:35PM: “I think that Ben is the love of Leslie’s life,” says Amy Poehler with regards to her on screen love life. “And I think this season was really great because Mike [Schur] and all the writers did such a good job of exquisitely torturing us by pulling them apart and pushing them together. It was really great to get to play really big comedic moments and then really small lovely moments.”
7:36PM: Apparently, one of the working titles for the show when Greg Daniels and Michael Schur were tossing around ideas was THE EDUCATION OF LESLIE KNOPE. “The idea was that you’d follow Leslie’s professional and personal growth as a human with the original pitch being that Leslie would have a series of relationships with different kinds of guys,” says Schur. “But then we brought Adam Scott on board and we couldn’t break them up, they’re so good together and their backgrounds compliment each other perfectly.”
7:38PM: With so much of art and literature focusing on ‘making it in the big city,’ Amy Poehler believes there is something really sweet and moving about people deciding to be in love with their own small town. [Read more…]
