Be it the true identity of the mysterious Mr. August or the real deal with the morally ambiguous Mr. Gold, ONCE UPON A TIME has a lot to answer for with a mere four episodes remaining in its fantastic freshman season. Luckily for us, writer and consulting producer Jane Espenson — who is responsible for penning tonight’s episode appropriately titled “The Return” — was only too happy to subject herself to a handful of our burning questions in an effort to get to the bottom of what fans can expect as the show hurdles towards what we can only imagine is a thrilling first season finale. See for yourself after the jump. [Read more…]

IN PLAIN SIGHT Scoop: Stephen Lang Talks Portraying Mary Shannon’s Long-Lost Father
From the very beginning of IN PLAIN SIGHT, the shadow of James Wiley Shannon has cast a pall over U.S. Marshal Mary Shannon’s world. He was the one that got away. Her dead-beat dad that bailed on her and her family when she was 7 years old, and with a long rap sheet of bank robberies under his belt, James Shannon was the essence of “wily”. Mary had long espoused that the minute she ever saw her father again, she was slapping the cuffs on him and handing him over to law enforcement. As was seen in last week’s episode, that is exactly what happened. Jim Shannon finally made his reappearance in Mary’s life, asking for help, and she promptly whipped out the handcuffs. In a recent conference call with press Stephen Lang shared what drew him to the role of Jim Shannon, a career-criminal who returned to reunite with his daughter. [Read more…]
Dispatches From The Couch (Re: Hulu’s BATTLEGROUND)
One of the best shows on television isn’t actually airing on television… at least, not unless you happen to be streaming Hulu to it. But whether you want to watch on your laptop, phone or television, that site’s BATTLEGROUND has become one of the most relevant, funny and emotion-packed shows out there.
For the uninitiated, BATTLEGROUND is what you’d get if THE OFFICE and THE RACHEL MADDOW SHOW had a baby. Using the former’s faux-documentary style and the latter’s ability to make politics interesting to even those who think of themselves as wildly uninterested in the democratic process.
The show focuses on the efforts of a rag-tag crew of campaign staffers during the final four weeks of their efforts to see their cash-strapped candidate, Deidre Samuels, win the Wisconsin Senate primary race. But as with all truly great shows, the plot is little more than a device on which to hang the characters who populate this world. Our ticket into the race is bright-eyed Ben Werner (the disarmingly charming Ben Samuel) whom we meet on his first day working under campaign manager Chris “Tak” Davis (Jay Hayden). [Read more…]

To reward those fans, and hopefully lure a few more before the show ends, creator and executive producer Jaime Paglia and his crack team of talent have whipped up a perfect concoction of science fiction meets drama and comedy that ventures into the extraordinary for the show’s final season. In a recent press conference call, Jaime Paglia and Colin Ferguson talked about what they have loved about EUREKA and what fun adventures lie ahead for our heroes. [Read more…]
SPARTACUS Post Mortem: Steven S. DeKnight Explains All Those Bloody Shocking Second Season Finale Deaths!
When a television show is premised on the life and times of Spartacus, one should know innately that characters are going to die – frequently and very bloodily. Yet, in television, we have a habit of growing attached to characters, whether it be heroes, villains or their comrades in arms. So it should have been no surprise that the second season finale of SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE ended with so many pivotal deaths; yet it was. In fact, viewers and fans were down right shocked to the core. So to help explain the necessity of each of these character deaths and what it means to the story as the show enters its third season, creator and producer Steven S. DeKnight shared in a recent press conference call who is really dead and why. [Read more…]
Russell Hornsby and Reggie Lee Talk GRIMM and Where the Mythology is Going
In the GRIMM world, fairytales do not have happy endings and supernatural creatures are not exactly warm-and-cuddly. In fact, most are down-right dangerous and would just as soon have you for dinner, rather than over for dinner. For Detective Nick Burkhardt things have gotten a whole lot more interesting after he found out that he can see these creatures in their true form and discovering out that his ancestry makes him a “grimm” – the one thing that all the creatures fear the most. But Nick does not want to simply kill the creatures like his ancestors, he wants to be impartial unless provoked. He will let everyone live in peace so long as no one breaks any laws. He is a new kind of “grimm” and no one knows what to make of him. But with such a powerful secret to protect, Nick’s partner Hank and his law enforcement peers have been kept in the dark. Yet after last week’s tense episode in which it was revealed that Sergeant Wu had an adverse reaction to the love-potion cookies intended for Detective Hank Griffin, there are a few burning questions to be answered. Fortunately, in a recent press conference call, co-stars Russell Hornsby and Reggie Lee were on hand to provide some answers. [Read more…]

GAME OF THRONES Re-Watch: “Baelor” and “Fire and Blood”
War is coming… and we can’t wait! Which is precisely why, in anticipation of GAME OF THRONES long-awaited return this Sunday April 1st on HBO (and HBO Canada), your very own TV Addict recently decided to brush up on the our George R.R. Martin mythology by spending a recent Saturday entrenched on our very own iron throne (Read: Couch). What follows, is our fun and pithy episode guide, with format inspiration courtesy of our bible, Entertainment Weekly. See for yourself, after the jump. [Read more…]
Ask the Addict: Spoilers for BONES, THE GOOD WIFE, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, HART OF DIXIE & More!
This long time FRIENDS fan is ridiculously excited for Matthew Perry’s appearance on Sunday’s episode. Any hints as to what he’s up to? — Rachelle
The TV Addict: Unfortunately for Alicia, when it comes to this Sunday’s episode, the good wife and great lawyer does not have a friend in Matthew Perry who as head of a blue ribbon commission tasked with getting to the bottom of a police shooting may not exactly have “finding the truth” at the top of his to-do list.
This GOOD WIFE obsessed fan cannot get enough of Dylan Baker’s uber-creepy client Colin Sweeney. Are there any plans to see him stir up trouble before this season comes to a close? — Brenda
The TV Addict: Not that we know of. But if it helps, Sunday’s episode does culminate with the surprise return of someone, that in our humble opinion, is far more dangerous than your run-of-the-mill convicted killer when it comes to Alicia’s well-being.
With all the hype surrounding BONES’ upcoming trip to Hollywood, I couldn’t help but notice that both the producers and cast were being relatively mum on what role — if any — Dr. Camille Saroyan plays in the episode? — Wilson
The TV Addict: If the producers and cast are being a little less than forthcoming with regards to what role — if any — Cam plays during the show’s much-anticipated trip to Hollywood that sees Booth and Brennan investigate a murder on the set of the film adaptation of Brennan’s book, it’s for good reason. And we say that as someone who was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of Cam’s costume courtesy of Tamara Taylor’s very own iPhone photo album that she was kind enough to show off during a recent one-on-one in Toronto. Suffice it to say, a completely different side of the good doctor doesn’t begin to describe things. So stay tuned! [Read more…]
