First we can’t buy an iPhone, now this! If you’re like this TV Addict [Canadian] or simply lack ABC Family among your five hundred channel universe, you’re officially out of luck when it comes to discovering the truth about KYLE XY. Due to lower than expected ratings, ABC has yanked repurposed episodes of the show that were airing on ABC Friday nights. Thus, from here on in, the only way to catch the adventure is on ABC Family or by purchasing episodes on iTunes for $1.99 each. Wondering what’s replacing KYLE on this Friday on ABC? GEORGE LOPEZ. Hey, it could be worse — at least we’re not being force fed a second serving of ACCORDING TO JIM.

First Look: WEEDS Season 3
From mobsters (THE SOPRANOS) to power-hungry families (THE TUDORS, ROME), television has seen its fare share of dysfunctional families. Yet no family puts the fun into dysfunctional like the cast of WEEDS. Showtime’s most buzzed about series returns to TV this August 13 at 10PM and theTVaddict.com is thrilled to give you a first look at the returning cast.
New additions include half an Olsen twin (Mary-Kate plays a new love interest for Silas) and Matthew Modine (as Sullivan Groff, a mysterious land developer for Majestic, a new Christian, mega-church development being built right near Agrestic).
“WEEDS isn’t your eight-o’-clock family fare. It’s an adult show with adult subject matter and we’re confident Mary-Kate is right for the role,” says WEEDS creator and executive producer Jenji Kohan. “She came in and read with Hunter (Parrish) and was absolutely charming and real and seemed like a great fit. Audiences have seen only one side of Mary-Kate but here, we’ll see her in a whole new light.”
Get Ready for Season Five of 90210
One of the best things about living in Canada — aside from the free health care and low crime rate — is TVtropolis. Every day, TVtropolis allows this TV Addict to re-live some of the shows that are pretty much responsible for turning me into a self-proclaimed TV Addict. BEVERLY HILLS 90210, FRIENDS, SEINFELD, FRASIER, GRACE UNDER FIRE — TVtropolis has it all, with more of your favorites on the way.
Starting this Fall, Tiffani Amber-Thiessen will make her long-awaited appearance on BEVERLY HILLS 90210 when Valerie Malone moves into the Walsh house. Yes, you heard it hear first. TVtropolis has announced that come September 2007, the network will not only give us season five of BEVERLY HILLS 90210, we’ll also get seasons six through eight. So get ready for Brandon and Kelly’s much anticipated hook-up, Dylan’s short-lived marriage to a mob boss’ daughter, and of course Donna finally losing her you know what.
Also joining the TVtropolis line-up is FAMILY GUY, FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR and this TV Addict’s long awaited shot at fame and fortune, when he guest stars on the hit game-show INSIDE THE BOX. Stay Tuned…
Amrie’s Take on TV: SIDE ORDER OF LIFE
About two weeks ago, I got a fabulous surprise in the mail. After a long work day, I came home to find an adorable envelope filled with information and the pilot episode of Lifetime’s new show “Side Order of Life”. I’ve watched it 4 times since then, and I’m just so excited for new episodes!
The show is about Jenny McIntyre (Marisa Coughlin in a charming role), a 30 year old woman on the verge of the perfect marriage with the perfect man. That all changes when her best friend tells her that the cancer she thought she had beaten had returned, and was overtaking her brain. What follows is Jenny’s world slowly falling apart before her eyes, and she needs to find a way to make it all better again. She has a strong group of friends, who all have fabulous chemistry. Diana Maria Riva (Vivy, cancer-stricken friend), Jason Priestley (saintly fiancé of Jenny), and Chris Gartin (Rick, struck with love for Vivy) all mesh so well with each other. They really are fabulous. What I love most is the surprise element of the officially-titled Cell Phone Guy and what he represents for Jenny as she starts her new life.
Along with the luck of watching the pilot episode, I had the privilege of speaking with Margaret Nagle, creator, writer, and executive producer of the show, about what she thinks about her show, how she feels about her characters, and what she hopes we all get out of the material.

Unfortunately, this is Friday night. lol So, let’s get to it and see how long this takes me to write up! lol

Random Musings for a Thursday
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS Scores on DVD
If you were one of the numerous readers who sent theTVaddict.com an email complaining that NBC’s already lost faith in FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS by removing the show from its summer schedule, have we got good news for you. NBC/Universal just announced that the twenty-two episode first season will be released on August 28th, 2007. Better still, the box set will be available for the almost unheard of low price of $29.98. Now you have absolutely no excuse to check out last season’s best new drama.
ROSWELL Star Lands New Gig
Pleased by the success of the limited-run series THE STARTER WIFE, the USA Network has given the green light to 12 episodes of the Sheri Appelby vehicle TO LOVE AND DIE. The series focuses on a young woman who is unlucky in love and decides the answer lies in her unresolved daddy issues. Seeking out the father she never knew (played by Tim Matheson), things quickly get complicated when she discovers that he’s a hitman… and killer tendencies might run in the family! Look for the show to appear sometime next Spring.
FOOTBALL Still In Play
More than a few people were shocked when ABC’s pilot FOOTBALL WIVES — based on a similarly-named and wildly popular BBC series — didn’t wind up on the network’s fall schedule. After all, the high-profile offering features such names as Gabrielle Union, Lucy Lawless, Ving Rhames and even Dawson himself, James Van Der Beek, and primetime soaps have been very kind to ABC in recent years (see DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, UGLY BETTY and BROTHERS & SISTERS). But it’s now being reported that the show isn’t yet dead in the water. In fact, it appears that if ABC Studios — which recently extended its options on the principal actors, usually an indicator that a project is still in consideration — permanently benches the project, several other nets are waiting on the sidelines.
V.C. Andrews Gets A New Life(time)
The news that a production company will be bringing the works of gothic novelist V.C. Andrews to television might best be met with the response “what took so long?” Then again, anyone who suffered through the painfully bad big-screen adaptation of her most famous novel, Flowers In The Attic, might instead let out a plaintive wail while asking, “Why?” But the Lifetime Network has announced that they are developing a mini-series based on one of the author’s better-received series of books. According to Variety, the mini has been given the somewhat awkward title THE LANDRY (which seems odd, seeing as the books upon which it is based follow the saga of a family named Landry, making a more appropriate title THE LANDRY’S). As with all of Andrews’ early works, the story follows a young girl who grows up poor only to discover as a teen that she is actually part of a wealthy New Orleans family. The books upon which the mini-series will be based were, in order, Ruby, Pearl in the Mist, All That Glitters, Hidden Jewel and Tarnished Gold. Unfortunately, Variety reports that Andrew Neiderman – the ghost writer who has cranked out (as opposed to writing) crappy tomes under the author’s name since her death in 1986 – will be serving as a consultant. Hopefully, the involvement of Neiderman – who showed early promise as a ghost writer but has more recently either run out of creative steam or finally been prove to have none of Andrews’ storytelling ability nor style – will be kept to a minimum. (Better still, here’s hoping someone eventually gives the author’s beloved — if one can use that word to describe a work which features a homicidal mother and her driven-to-incest children — Flowers In The Attic and it’s sequels the treatment they deserve.
