Tuesday marks the season finales of The Secret Life of the American Teenager on ABC Family at 8/7c, Million Dollar Listing on Bravo and How to Look Good Naked on Lifetime, both at 10/9c.

More importantly, tonight also brings with it the 95-minute series premiere of Fringe on FOX at 8/7c. From J.J. Which is too bad, because if Nate had any real smarts, he’d remember that there are far easier not to mention slightly less sleazy ways to make a quick buck. Jenny’s TV Guide: Sunday September 7

Sunday marks the season finale of Ice Road Truckers on the History Channel at 9/8c and the season premiere of Entourage on HBO at 10/9c [8:30PM est on TMN in Canada].

Tonight is also the series premiere of three new shows. First up is a series preview of Hole in the Wall on FOX at 8/7c, the game show with hosts Mark Thompson and Brooke Burns. As one of the fastest, funniest and wettest shows on the planet, speed, agility and a hearty sense of humor are essential tools to survive facing the Hole. Two teams of three will compete against each other in multiple rounds of play, facing various barrier walls with weird and wacky cut-out shapes speeding toward them. Each team must contort their bodies either individually or in unison to fit through the wall or be swept away into a pool below. The winning team will win $25,000 and the chance to compete against the dreaded “Blind Wall” for an additional $100,000.

The next premiere is True Blood on HBO at 9/8c. Thanks to a Japanese scientist’s invention of synthetic blood, vampires have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. And while humans have been safely removed from the menu, many remain apprehensive about these creatures “coming out of the coffin.” Religious leaders and government officials around the world have chosen their sides, but in the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps, the jury is still out. Local waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), however, knows how it feels to be an outcast. “Cursed” with the ability to listen in on people’s thoughts, she’s also open-minded about the integration of vampires — particularly when it comes to Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), a handsome 173-year-old living up the road. But as Sookie is drawn into a series of mysteries surrounding Bill’s arrival in Bon Temps, that tolerance will be put to the test.

Finally, it’s the series premiere of Sandhogs on the History Channel at 10/9c. Having built nearly every tunnel and underground project in New York City, Sandhogs have been an instrumental part of the development of the city. This new “American Original” explores the history of a world rarely seen, but one that is integral to the lifeblood of America’s largest city.

Friday marks the season, and quite possibly series finale of Swingtown on CBS at 10/9c as well as the 1-hour special: Stand Up to Cancer on ABC, CBS & NBC at 8/7c. Jennifer Aniston, Christina Applegate, Lance Armstrong, Josh Brolin, Katie Couric, Fran Drescher, Kirsten Dunst, Elizabeth Edwards, America Ferrara, Charles Gibson, Neil Patrick Harris, Robin Roberts, Brian Williams and others support cancer research. American Idol winner, David Cook, is also expected to perform

Tonight marks the first two hours of the 3-night/6-hour miniseries, Samurai Girl on ABC Family at 8/7c & 9/8c. It tells the story of a 19-year old Japanese girl named Heaven, who discovers that the wealthy businessman who adopted her as an infant is really the head of the Yakuza (the Japanese mafia) and may have had her beloved brother brutally murdered. She breaks from her family and begins training to become a samurai, and with the help of a group of new American friends, sets out to take down her father’s evil empire. The ensemble cast includes Jamie Chung, Brendan Fehr, Saige Thompson, Kyle Labine, Anthony Brandon Wong, Steven Brand and Kenneth Choi.

Jenny’s TV Guide: Wednesday September 3

Wednesday marks the season finale of Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Dallas Cowboys on HBO at 10/9c and the series premiere of Suns of Anarchy on FX at 10/9c. This adrenalized, darkly humorous drama exploring a notorious outlaw motorcycle club’s intent on protecting their simple, sheltered town of Charming, Calif. from advancing drug dealers and local corporate developers. It is also a family saga seen through the eyes of Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) whose love for the brotherhood comes into direct conflict with his growing apprehension regarding the club’s lawlessness. Katey Sagal stars as his force-of-nature mother who, along with the club’s president, Jax’s stepfather, has her own ideas about the direction of the Sons of Anarchy.

Finally, tonight is the season premieres of America’s Next Top Model on the CW and Bones on FOX, both 2 hours and starting at 8/7c.

Win THE OFFICE Season 4 on DVD

the office season 4 dvd I’m not sure if it’s a testament to theTVaddict.com’s growing popularity, or I’m simply just really lucky. But as of late it seems that networks and studios can’t seem to send this TV Addict free DVD’s fast enough. I mean it’s almost to the point where I see my local FedEx, UPS and DHL guys [and gals] more than my actual family!

So today, in honor of THE OFFICE Season Four being released in stores this week, this TV Addict is thrilled to be able to give away one copy of THE OFFICE Season Four on DVD.

90210: The TV Addict’s Review

As regular readers of theTVaddict.com know all to well, the original [mis] adventures of Brenda and Brandon are what got this TV Addict hooked on television to begin with. So when I say I wanted to love the CW’s re-boot of 90210, I really mean it. Essentially it’s my STAR WARS. Which is why I have seriously mixed feelings as I sit here and write my review.

On the one hand, the series seemingly started off on the right foot, or as they might say in the zip— the right Manolo Blahnik. Writers Jeff Judah, Gabe Sachs and Rob Thomas totally got it. Not only did the episode immediately set the tone for the next generation by showing West Bev pin-up boy Ethan Ward getting ‘serviced’ in his car [Oh we’re definitely not in Kansas anymore!] The writers cleverly gave the original 90210 fans the respect they deserve by not wasting anytime and getting right to the old school cameos/shout outs.

Cue the TV Addict’s heart melting as we witness an adorable and frustrated Nat attempt to make a non-fat no-whip double shot caramel macchiato [Why exactly has the Peach Pit turned into a bizarro Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf?], an absolutely radiant Kelly Taylor and a first look at a slightly grown-up Hannah Zuckerman-Vasquez. Which afforded the show its funniest line of the night, as new teacher Ryan Matthews cracked, “How old is that girl, 30?”

Unfortunately, things went downhill from there and like a bad nip/tuck, the cracks in 90210’s perfectly marketed facade quickly started to show. To put it bluntly, the next generation of Annie and Dixon Mills, Naomi Clark, Ethan Ward, Silver, Navid etc… have a long way to go until they can even be remotely compared to Brandon, Brenda, Kelly, Donna, David, Steve and Andrea.

Channel Surfing with C.T: GOSSIP GIRL, ONE TREE HILL, TOP MODEL & More!

Much like GOSSIP GIRL’s titular character, I’m back. (I’ll refrain from saying, “You know you love me” and signing off with XOXO, CT”… but it’ll be tough. Anyway, a million thanks to our pals at The CW for recognizing that Labor Day marks not only the last day of summer but, at least symbolicly, the first day of fall and launching their new season. What better way to kick things off then by watching Blair Waldorf play games with Chuck “Basstard” against gorgeous backgrounds. It wouldn’t be GG without very bad things happening at a very hip party. This time around, it was the White Party, where Dan’s hypocrisy left him wearing more cocktails than he consumed, Nate’s affair with a married women (how gorgeous did Madchen Amick look?) took a completely expected twist and Blair learned the true meaning of the words “Oh my Lord!” As guilty pleasures go, the season premiere was the equivalent of a Jackie Collins novel toted to the beach: By the time the tide’s gone out, you’ll have forgotten the details despite having enjoyed the ride while it lasted.

The faux flash-forward that kicked off the new season of ONE TREE HILL was the kind of thing that makes me realize just how much I underestimated this show in the past. Last year, I became a major fan, accepting that while the acting is sometimes laughably bad, there’s something undeniably addictive about this drama. How can I resist Brooke and her mom (the wonderfully bitchy Daphne Zuniga) trading zingers? Or hearing Skills tell Deb they should go public by saying to her son,, “Nate, look, I’m dating your mom. Sleeping with her. Doing all kinds of freaky stuff with her.” Heck, the show even made up for what I thought was one of last season’s bigger mistakes — the blink-and-you-missed-it resolution of the storyline involving Jamie’s nutty nanny — by bringing creepy Carrie back and making her Dan’s nasty nurse! The only thing not working for me? The lame Lucas/Peyton pairing. How incredibly predictable! Come on, wouldn’t it have been more interesting if Lucas had called Brooke? The chemistry between them — even in that brief scene that topped the episode — is far more incendiary than what passes for sparks where he and Peyton are concerned. But hey, they ain’t married yet, so there’s still hope!

How much do you wanna bet that when some DAILY SHOW staffer told Jon Stewart that McCain’s vice presidential choice had an married, knocked-up teenage daughter, the host thought he was being punked? And I’m not sure, but I’d be willing to bet that COUNTDOWN’s Keith Olbermann salivated at the news. I imagine that the folks over at FOX News immediately began working to spin the poor girl’s upcoming insta-marriage (just add shotgun!) as proof that “Republican family values” work. At this point, the Republicans should just name Larry Craig their Values Czar and be done with it.

Jenny’s TV Guide: Monday September 1

Monday marks the season finale [and quite possibly the series series finale] of The Middleman on ABC Family at 10/9c. More importantly, tonight also marks the start of the Fall season. On the CW, we’ve got the premieres of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill, starting at 8/7c. While FOX offers up the 2-hour season premiere of Prison Break, starting at 8/7c.

Also premiering tonight is the series premiere of Raising the Bar on TNT at 10/9c. The series follows the lives and cases of young lawyers who have been friends since law school but now work on opposing sides. Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack on Saved By the Bell & NYPD Blue) stars as an idealistic public defender who will stop at nothing to help those who cannot help themselves. Gloria Reuben (ER) plays his passionate and protective boss. Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) plays the imperious judge who hears their cases. The series also stars Teddy Sears (Ugly Betty), Melissa Sagemiller (Sleeper Cell), Currie Graham (Boston Legal), J. August Richards (Angel & Conviction) and Jonathan Scarfe (Into the West).
