CONTINUUM Chatter: Stars Rachel Nichols, Victor Webster and EP Simon Barry Talk The Challenges of Season 2
Taking a successful sci-fi series from its first season to its second is not easy and yet the Syfy series CONTINUUM managed the transition seamlessly. The series explores the modern day challenges of suddenly having travelers from our future thrust into our midst with opposing agendas: one wants to change the future and the other wants to maintain the status quo to ensure that she has a future to return to one day. But in the world on CONTINUUM there are layers upon layers of mystery as to who is really controlling the fate of the future and what their true motives are. At the end of the first season, it was revealed that Kiera Cameron’s (Rachel Nichols) mentor Alex Sadler (Erik Knudsen) had purposely sent her back in time and yet we are still unclear if he wants the future preserved as badly as Kiera does. In a press conference call, stars Rachel Nichols, Victor Webster and executive producer Simon Barry gave some insight into the conflicting motivations and how it effects the relationships of the characters this season. Everyone loves a winner. But here at theTVaddict.com, we tend to favor the also-rans. You know, the people who never quite get to steal the spotlight, yet somehow manage to make off with our hearts. Here are a few we can’t help loving!
Bullet, THE KILLING

Channel Surfing: SIBERIA, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, THE BACHELORETTE & More!
Two episodes in, and while I’m completely addicted to NBC’s summer series SIBERIA, I can’t actually decide whether I enjoy it or not. That may sound odd, but given that I often have the same reaction to reality shows — which this scripted series is designed to emulate — it’s not entirely surprising. What’s working is the way the show manages to so perfectly recreate all the clichés we’ve come to expect from reality shows. From the cutaway interviews in which the contestants give their take on the unfolding events to the occasionally-jittery camerawork, cheesetastic host, and SURVIVOR-like opening credits, the show captures the genre perfectly. The problem with the series is pacing. Last night’s episode featured a lot of running through the woods and someone freaking out after taking mushrooms, but not much in the way of actual plot movement. Sure, it all lead to the exiting Victoria declaring, “You’re all gonna die”, but honestly, haven’t we sort of expected that from the beginning? [Read more…]
