In an exclusive interview with theTVaddict.com, Tim Griffin, one of the stars of NBC’s gripping new drama PRIME SUSPECT shared what it has been like for him to flesh out his character Detective Augie Blando and embrace the dark, gritty world in which Maria Bello’s Det. Jane Timoney finds herself currently entrenched in. Based on the British television series of the same name, which had starred Helen Mirren, the NBC remake seeks to put a fresh twist on the series which riveted viewers on both sides of the pond.
In a candid interview, Tim was eager to share his experiences and thoughts on the show. He said that when he first read the script for the pilot, it was his gut reaction that, “It was the greatest script. The writing is the true strong point of the show. It’s smart, fresh and the characters bounce off of each other.” He was also quick to point out, “We have the best writers in the business. It’s truly original and their own.” [Read more…]
Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Questions with COMMUNITY Star Jim Rash
If scene stealing were an Olympic sport, Jim Rash would be COMMUNITY’s gold medal winner. As Dean Pelton, the hilariously well-intentioned head honcho of Greendale Community College, Rash’s ability to make the most of what little screen time he’s given hasn’t just turned him into one of the small screen’s most memorable character, but resulted in a much-deserved third season promotion to series regular status. So just how does it feel to have a little job security under what we can only imagine is one helluva bizarrely bedazzled belt? Well, we had the pleasure of catching up with the affable actor at the recent Television Critics Association Press Tour in Los Angeles to find out just that, in addition to how Pelton plans on dealing with his latest nemesis, that of John Goodman’s Vice-Dean of Air Conditioning during COMMUNITY season 3. 5 Things You Didn’t Know About 2 BROKE GIRLS Star Kat Dennings
With mere hours before CBS unveils 2 BROKE GIRLS, a new comedy that, as the title suggests, sees two young women waitressing at a greasy spoon diner in the hopes of earning enough money of launching a successful business, we thought now might be as good a time as any to get to know one of those girls, the hilarious an adorable Kat Dennings.
This is not the first time she has worked with creator Michael Patrick King.
Although it probably won’t come as much of a surprise that the prolific young actress already crossed paths with 2 BROKE GIRLS co-creator Michael Patrick King over the course of her now decade long career, what sure might is where exactly their paths crossed first. Turns out, King is responsible for giving Dennings her big break. “I was actually on an episode of SEX AND THE CITY, I was maybe just 14 and I played Jenny Brier in the episode called “Hot Child in the City’,” revealed an adorkable Dennings during the recent Television Critics Press Tour in Los Angeles. “It changed my life, it really did. [Prior to that role] I was a home-schooled kid living in the forest. I didn’t have cable. I’m serious. ”
Growing up she was one broke girl.
Just how broke really was Kat Dennings growing up Bryn Mawr, just outside of Philadelphia? So strapped for cash that her family only got cable to watch her break-through role on SEX AND THE CITY. “Part of the reason why I relate to this show [2 BROKE GIRLS] so much is because we didn’t have any money when I was growing up,” said Dennings, “We had to get cable to watch that episode. So all my little homeschool friends and their moms saw Kyle MacLachlan’s ass. It was pretty incredible.” [Read more…]
