Must READ TV: Carol Leifer’s New Book “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Crying”
To say Carol Leifer’s book How To Succeed In Business Without Really Crying left me feeling inspired is an understatement. As a college student I’m surrounded by people who have the same dream as me. Thousands of people my age are trying to work in television. Leifer’s book really gave me insight on how to make myself stand out and she taught me how hone my skills.
There aren’t many books that I personally can identify with, (not saying I’m a comedic genius like she is) but with this book I noticed a lot of what she spoke about is stuff that I am currently going through. She touched on interviews and how to not embarrass yourself during one. How to deal with hecklers at a standup comedy show, and how to keep pushing yourself so eventually you’re versatile in your field.
In Leifer’s book she did a “Top Ten” much like her old friend David Letterman does on his show. I decided to list ten reasons I LOVED this book. [Read more…]

Review: SILICON VALLEY
You don’t have to be a genius working at one of the top computer companies in the country to see how awesome SILICON VALLEY is. The new HBO comedy debuted last week and has received great reviews, and for good reason. The nerd fueled comedy centers around Richard’s (Thomas Middleditch) web design for a program called “Pied Piper” Richard was offered millions for this design but opted for the deal that offered him creative control over his company. The problem is Richard has no clue how to run his company, the only thing he does know is who he wants working on it, his friends. Richard’s team includes Erlich, (T.J. Miller) Gilfoyle, (Martin Starr) Dinesh, (Kumail Nanjiani) Big Head, (Josh Brener) and Jared. (Zach Woods) [Read more…]

Listicle: Victoria’s Top 10 TV Characters of All Time!
Characters are the most important part of any show; at least that’s how I look at it. They make you feel for them, hate them, and fall madly in love with them. I decided to make a list of my top ten favorite television characters of all time! (In order) Feel free to comment and let me know if you agree/ disagree, and who your favorite characters are!
Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren (Uzo Aduba) ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
I pretty much love every character Jenji Kohan has ever created. Although, Crazy Eyes would have to my favorite, Kohan’s characters are so raw and always come from this dark place and you somehow always find yourself rooting for them, even though you know you probably shouldn’t. Originally I was going to pick Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) as my number 10 but then “I’m gonna call you dandelion because they’re pretty and yellow, just like you” popped into my head and I realized, Crazy Eyes is way too hilarious and perfect to not be on this list. An Appreciation of BOB’s BURGERS’ Tina Belcher
The third season of BOB’S BURGERS made its way to Netflix Instant last week. The show sharpens its already solid mix of sincerity and irreverence, but this third season is most interesting in how it twists the theme of growing up, displayed by eldest daughter Tina Belcher (Dan Mintz), into something less resembling the problems of an early adolescent girl and more like what the currently adrift postgrad generation experiences.
That’s right, Tina belongs to the Millennials, if only by the thinnest of margins – she’s 13, which would put her at the tail end of the generational divide. BOB’S BURGERS has recognized this and spends the third season exploring what this means. [Read more…]
