It’s May, so we’re getting news about the upcoming fall seasons for the networks, including show cancellations and renewals.
First up on ABC is BLACK-ISH, which has renewed the comedy for an eighth and final season according to series creator Kenya Barris. “To ALL the people in the world I love, honor, respect and care for it is both exciting and bittersweet to share that black-ish been RENEWED by ABC for it’s EIGHTH… and FINAL SEASON,” Barris posted to Instagram.
Meanwhile, CALL YOUR MOTHER, the freshman comedy series starring Kyra Sedgwick, has been cancelled, as has REBEL, starring Katey Sagal. In addition, shows FOR LIFE, MIXED-ISH and AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE have been cancelled.
But there’s also news of renewals. ABC has renewed THE ROOKIE, A MILLION LITTLE THINGS, THE CONNERS, THE GOLDBERGS and HOME ECONOMICS for another season. These five shows join the previously renewed THE GOOD DOCTOR, BIG SKY, GREY’S ANATOMY and STATION 19.
The fate of AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE, FOR LIFE, MIXED-ISH and REBEL have yet to be announced.
