Several members of the original PRISON BREAK cast have now been confirmed as returning for the limited series, including: Wentworth Miller (Michael Scofield), Dominic Purcell (Lincoln Burrows), Sarah Wayne Callies (Sara Tancredi), Amaury Nolasco (Fernando Sucre), Robert Knepper (Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell) and Rockmond Dunbar (“C-Note”).
Before we look ahead to the continuation of the show, let’s recap where each of the characters were at the end of the original series finale:
Michael: He was dead. Supposedly. Let’s not get into what happened in the TV movie, but even in the original series finale he was dead. But obviously he won’t be any longer.
Lincoln: In the original series epilogue (set 4 years after the end of the series), Linc was spotted owning a surf shop and staying in close contact with Sara and her son (who is also Lincoln’s nephew). He visited Michael’s grave with Sara, her son, Mahone and Sucre.
Sara: Though Sara was seemingly killed in the middle of the series’ run, she too “came back from the dead”. In the end, she had a child with Michael (who died before the boy was born) and was living with her son and remaining in contact with Michael’s loved ones.
Sucre: One of Michael’s most loyal friends, Sucre stood by Michael and Lincoln through all of the various prison breaks and conspiracies. He was spotted in the series finale with Linc, Sara and Mahone visiting Michael’s grave.
C-Note: He was originally written off the show towards the end of the second season, having reunited with his family after escaping from the original prison with Michael and Lincoln. He then reappeared at the end of the fourth season to help his former friends and was spotted living a quiet new life as a UPS deliveryman in the series finale epilogue.
T-Bag: One of the most evil characters to ever grace the show, T-Bag escaped with the original “Fox River 8” and then found himself back in prison by the series’ end.
The only character we haven’t heard about yet is Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner). Mahone joined PRISON BREAK at the beginning of season 2 as an FBI agent who was hunting down the escapees. While he was originally determined to capture Michael and his friends, he eventually became one of their allies and was with Sara, Lincoln and Sucre in the series finale.
Looking ahead to the revival series, here is what we know: “When clues surface that suggest a previously thought-to-be-dead Michael may be alive, Lincoln and Sara reunite to engineer the series’ biggest escape ever, as three of Fox River State Penitentiary’s most notorious escapees, T-Bag, C-Note and Sucre, are pulled back into the action.”
PRISON BREAK is set to premiere during the 2016-2017 season on Fox.
