NCIS Sneak Peeks: Full Speed Ahead

Politics can be an ugly game, as attested to in television commercials during any election year.  Reaction generally is swift and to the point, which also is the case tonight on NCIS.

When the Secretary of the Navy’s daughter is kidnapped, NCIS must learn if the kidnapping is because of politics, for money or if someone has an ax to grind.  It could be for all of those reasons…or none.

When notification comes that SecNav Sarah Porter’s (Leslie Hope) daughter has been abducted, NCIS and the FBI, let by Senior FBI Agent Tobias Fornell (Joe Spano) reacts quickly to determine a motive.

Richard Porter (Bruce Thomas) is shot when he approaches his daughter’s abductors, and a car explodes, hurling Gibbs (Mark Harmon) to the floor of a parking garage.

It seems as though many are willing to react to the situation by throwing themselves in harm’s way to save Megan Porter (Caitlin Carver).

But not all things reactionary tonight are bad…check out DiNozzo’s (Michael Weatherly) and Bishop’s (Emily Wickersham) reactions when NCIS Special Agent Valerie Page (guest star Christina Chang) arrives on the scene for a training exercise.

Page, leader of the Regional Enforcement Action Capabilities Team (aka REACT), has been friends with McGee (Sean Murray) since childhood, and DiNozzo reacts with a near-spit take when Page calls Tim by his full name…Timothy Farragut McGee.

One can assume that McGee, a Navy brat, was named after David Glasgow Farragut, the first person to serve as rear admiral, vice admiral, and admiral in the United States Navy. Farragut is remembered for his order at the Battle of Mobile Bay, usually paraphrased as “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.”

Looks like the same concept applies to tonight’s episode, “React,” which is full of excitement (and coffee)!

NCIS also stars David McCallum, Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll and Brian Dietzen.  Additional guest stars tonight include Jake Borelli, René Ashton, Brendan McCarthy and Hervé Clermont.  “React” was written by Jennifer Corbett and directed by Bethany Rooney.

NCIS airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS (U.S.) and on Global TV (Canada).
