THE SOCIETY has been renewed for a second season! The new Netflix series. which is a sort of modern take on the classic novel “Lord of the Flies” stars Kathryn Newton. In the show, the teens of a small town were all bussed out due to a strange smell permeating the town and, once brought back, were shocked to discover that all of the adults had disappeared. While the kids soon took advantage of the lack of adults by partying, they quickly discovered that they had to organize themselves into a functioning society, ration their food, take care of the town, and try to figure out what had happened to everyone.
Of course, some of the kids weren’t happy with the rules and started to fight back, leading to a lot of chaos and a mature examination of what makes humans function in a society. The first season ended on a cliffhanger, which should make this renewal a happy occasion for fans of THE SOCIETY.
