Season 2 of STRANGER THINGS took place over Halloween, culminating in a giant battle between monsters and humans for the fate of Hawkins, Indiana (and the world). But, thanks to the always-powerful Eleven and her friends, the humans won the day. Now it’s been two years since we last traveled to Hawkins, but the first trailer for season 3 shows us a lighter side of the town. It’s summer 1985 and Dustin has just returned home, welcomed back by his friends. The kids are all hanging out at the local mall and working their summer jobs, delighting in the fair that’s come to town. And it’s all leading up to the Fourth of July, when it appears that something terrible is going to happen. Because the monsters are back and the fate of the world rests on these shoulders yet again.
STRANGER THINGS season 3 debuts on Netflix on July 4.
