Idris Elba stars as Charlie in TURN UP CHARLIE, a new comedy series on Netflix. Charlie is a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, but he gets one last chance when he’s asked to become a “manny” to his famous friend’s problem-child daughter, Gabby. Gabby hates having nannies and she immediately sets out to make Charlie quit, but he’s desperate to make this work. Complicating matters is the fact that his friend’s wife, played by Piper Perabo, seems to be getting very close to Charlie.
All 8 episodes of season 1 of TURN UP CHARLIE will debut worldwide on Netflix on March 15. Elba will also be making his SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE host debut on March 9, a week before the show is released.
