THE RESIDENT returns from its holiday hitus tonight and before we address the cliffhanger that clossed out the winter finale, let’s catch up on what happened in season. The video below will help you with that, but just to summarize: Devon was getting ready to marry his long-time girlfriend when he met Julian, a medical device rep who started working with the hospital. Sparks bloomed between the pair and even though Julian eventually spurred his advances, Devon opted not to go through with the wedding (on the day of the wedding, in fact). Plus, Julian uncovered suspicious actions by her boss at QuoVadis and was gearing up to expose him before he caught wind of her treachery. Meanwhile, Conrad’s father (Marshall) returned to get to know his son and did seem to reunite with Conrad after initially receiving a chilly reception. After being admitted to the hospital after falling ill, Marshall suffered a severe medical problem and was being wheeled into surgery in the fall finale. Dr. Bell was scrubbing in to save Marshall as well as dealing with the fact that Dr. Lane Hunter was using him to get released from prison.
Meanwhile, in sneak peeks from the January return below, we see Conrad and Nic race to the operating room when they learn about Marshall’s surgery, while Mina also scrubs in to help. In the second video, we see that Lane has officially been relased from prison and her victims and their families will be furious once they learn about this. Finally, Devon is staying at the hospital until his ex wife-to-be departs for San Francisco and Mina is very unhappy with Devon for sabotaging his relationship with Priya because of Julian.
