Castiel is headed back to Heaven in this week’s SUPERNATURAL. According to the official synopsis for the episode, “Heaven faces an attack from a dark force, driving Castiel to make an enormous sacrifice to make things right.” Yikes! While we don’t know what that big sacrifice might be, we did get a few teasers about the episode from the red carpet for SUPERNATURAL’s upcoming 300th episode.
- Going Back to Heaven. “Heaven is basically defenseless,” executive producer Brad Buckner explained. “There’s a few remaining angels. So Heaven basically is under assault. Under assault by whom remains to be found out. But Cas has to go there and do his level best because Heaven’s in trouble and could potentially be shut down.” As for the rocky relationship between Cas and the other angels, Misha Collins also hinted that “I think that at this point Cas and Heaven are mending fences, but the fence is still badly broken because Heaven is in such bad shape. We are sort of forging an alliance, but at the same time Heaven is badly broken and is becoming more broken.”
- Supermonsters. Meanwhile, we’ve gotten some hints that Michael seems to have been creating a collection of supermonsters to help aid him with his plans. When we asked Buckner how that story would continue to develop, he said “It’s going to continue to develop because he needs an army. He can’t do this all by himself. So in apocalypse world it was the angels — there are [not enough] angels, [and] he doesn’t trust them much anyway. So he is recruiting these supermonsters and they’re going to rear their head before long. I think by the time we hit the mid-season finale [airing on December 13] we’re going to find out exactly what’s going with that.”
Don’t miss an all new episode of SUPERNATURAL on December 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
