The CW continues its season/series premiere season the week of October 14 with the debut of CHARMED and the return of shows such as SUPERGIRL and ARROW. Meanwhile, on SUPERNATURAL, Sam gets a lead on Dean’s whereabouts and Jughead and Betty team up to investigate a new RIVERDALE mystery.

- SUPERGIRL 4.01 “American Alien”: Diving back into reporting, Kara (Melissa Benoist) welcomes a new cub reporter to CatCo. Meanwhile, James (Mehcad Brooks) and Lena (Katie McGrath) argue about James’ impending indictment for acting as the vigilante Guardian, while Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Brainy (Jesse Rath) struggle to get in sync at the DEO. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is called into action when remnants of the anti-alien terrorist organization Cadmus try to assassinate pro-alien leaders, but their endgame turns out to be much more sinister than she expected. J’onn (David Harewood) relishes his peaceful new life, but an outing with an old friend causes him concern. Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Robert Rovner & Jessica Queller and teleplay by Gabriel Llanas & Aadrita Mukerji.
- CHARMED 1.01 “Pilot”: After the tragic death of Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie’s (Sarah Jeffery) mother, the sisters struggle with moving forward but face another huge shock when they learn they have an older sister, Macy (Madeleine Mantock). With the emotions of all three sisters running high, each of the girls suddenly exhibit impossible new abilities: Mel can freeze time, Maggie starts hearing others’ thoughts and Macy has telekinetic powers. While trying to understand their new powers, Harry Greenwood (Rupert Evans), gathers the sisters and reveals they’re actually powerful witches, as was their mother. He also lets them in on a little secret, he’s not really a professor, he’s their “Whitelighter,” a witch’s advisor and guide. The sisters must make the decision to accept their new destiny as The Charmed Ones…and their new duty to protect humankind from the demons that walk among us…one of whom killed their mother. - ARROW 7.01 “Inmate 4587”: Following Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) shocking decision to turn himself over to the FBI and reveal his identity as the Green Arrow to the public, Oliver has spent the past five months in Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Determined to keep a low profile to shorten his sentence for the sake of his family, Oliver is tested when he runs into old foes. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) have taken on new jobs and left their costumes behind but not everyone is following suit. With her focus on William (guest star Jack Moore), Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) tries to start over but when someone from her past resurfaces, things become complicated. James Bamford directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Oscar Balderrama.
- “Constantine: The Legend Continues”: John Constantine (voiced by Matt Ryan) is a seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult. - RIVERDALE 3.02 “Chapter Thirty-Seven: Fortune and Men’s Eyes”: After a gruesome discovery is made in the forest, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) team up to investigate Riverdale’s latest mystery. As Archie (KJ Apa) navigates his new surroundings, Veronica (Camila Mendes) devises a plan to bring a bit of home to him. Elsewhere, when Moose (guest star Cody Kearsley) decides to join the RROTC, Kevin (Casey Cott) worries he may be pulling away from him. Madelaine Petsch, Marisol Nichols, Madchen Amick, Luke Perry, Ashleigh Murray, Mark Consuelos, Skeet Ulrich and Charles Melton also star. Jeff Woolnough directed the episode written by Michael Grassi.
- ALL AMERICAN 1.02 “99 Problems”: While trying to be all things, on and off the field, Spencer (Daniel Ezra) quickly discovers the rules he played by at Crenshaw no longer apply in Beverly Hills. Meanwhile, Coop (Bre-Z) is also forced to learn a new set of rules, with Spencer’s protective “Halo Effect” now gone. Taye Diggs, Karimah Westbrook, Monet Mazur, Greta Onieogou, Samantha Logan, Michael Evans Behling, Jalyn Hall and Cody Christian. The episode was written by April Blair and Mike Herro & David Straus and directed by David McWhirter.

Castiel imparts some sage advice on Jack (Alexander Calvert), who, still desperate to belong, seeks out a familial connection. - DYNASTY 2.02 “Ship of Vipers”: While Blake (Grant Show) focuses on his own selfish endeavors, Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) goes to desperate measures to sell Carrington Atlantic to the Van Kirks. Sam (Rafael de la Fuente) and Alexis (Nicollette Sheridan) are determined to validate their suspicions about Melissa (guest start Kelly Rutherford). Meanwhile, Anders’ (Alan Dale) daughter Kirby (Maddison Brown) befriends the Colbys in order to seek revenge on Fallon to make her pay for the past. James Mackay, Robert Christopher Riley, Sam Adegoke and Ana Brenda Contreras also star. Josh Reims and Jenna Richman wrote the episode, which was directed by Kenny Leon.
