Following the pick-up of a medical drama late last week (NEW AMSTERDAM), NBC has also picked up two other new shows to series: THE VILLAGE and THE ENEMY WITHIN.
THE VILLAGE revolves around an apartment building in Brooklyn of the same name. While it looks like any other building, the people inside have developed a strong bond as friends and neighbours. The show focuses on Sarah (a nurse and single mother), Gabe (a young law student with a much older roommate), Nick (a veteran who has returned from war) and Patricia and Ron (an older couple who serve as the heart and soul of the building). The cast includes Moran Atias, Dominic Chianese, Warren Christie, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Daren Kagasoff, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint and Grace Van Dien.
Meanwhile, THE ENEMY WITHIN, starring Jennifer Carpenter, Morris Chestnut, Raza Jaffrey and Kelli Garner, is a fast-paced spy-hunting thriller. Carpenter plays Erica Shepherd, a former CIA operative who is now known as the most notorious traitor in American history serving life in a Supermax prison. But when FBI Agent Will Keaten is tasked with finding a dangerous and elusive criminal, he turns to Erica.
