Whether or not June is free is the central question at the heart of season 2 of THE HANDMAID’S TALE. Escaping the Commander’s house at the end of the first season won’t necessarily lead her to freedom, but it’s definitely a start.
Season 2 of the acclaimed show starts to expand beyond Margaret Atwood’s novel, focusing on June’s pregnancy and her search for her daughter. And we’ll finally get a look at the Colonies, where Emily (Alexis Bledel) has been sent — a life that may be even more difficult than her previous one. Up in Canada, Moira is protesting for the rights of women like June and herself. Meanwhile, the Commander and Serena Joy have their own troubles to worry about — including the suspicion that they may be part of the resistance.
The 13-episode second season of THE HANDMAID’S TALE premieres April 25 on Hulu.
