SUPERNATURAL concluded season 12 with a two-part season finale that saw Mary Winchester truly reuniting with her sons shortly before she jumped into an alternate dimension to save them from Lucifer, who is now stuck in that dimension with the Winchester matriarch. Elsewhere in the finale, Crowley gave his life to help his sometimes-allies the Winchesters, the brothers met an alternate universe version of Bobby (the same universe where Mary is now trapped), and Lucifer managed to kill Castiel before he and Mary left our dimension.
Oh yeah, and poor Kelly gave birth to Lucifer’s child, who killed his mother as he came into the world and then seemed to grow into a teenager within the blink of an eye.
At Comic-Con, the cast and producers teased that Lucifer’s child, Jack, would be taken in by the Winchesters. While they’re upset that his birth has led to so much heartache for them, Sam is convinced that the boy can be a force of good instead of evil. Will that turn out to be the case? We don’t know, but they’re going to try to bring Jack into the fold, particularly since he may be the key to getting their mother back — assuming she can survive a hellish alternative dimension with Lucifer.
