The multitalented Mary Stuart Masterson (FRIED GREEN TOMATOES, BENNY & JOON, Tony nominee for NINE) guest stars on NCIS tonight as Congresswoman Jenna Flemming, a hard-hitting politician whose views have put her at odds with both parties and constituents.
Unfortunately for the opinionated legislator, her stances have garnered her another kind of follower…a threatening stalker. When a body turns up, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and company are brought in to work the case.
When Flemming’s personal aide, Max Sanders (Tommy Savas), discloses the escalating threat to his boss from social media, phone calls and letters, NCIS focuses its resources to include the Congresswoman’s protection with a temporary detail headed by Vance (Rocky Carroll).
Despite having a dead rat with a note reading “FLEMMING – YOU’RE NEXT” and a body floating in a pool show up, the independent lawmaker still could prove as a less-than-cooperative participant in her own protection.
Is there another rat in this game of cat-and-mouse? Is there a chance that the threat on Flemming is close to home? Does the danger have something to do with the title of tonight’s episode, “Pay to Play,” which often is heard in political news recently?
Meanwhile, the disparate NCIS team continues to find its footing as its members continue to find ways to relate to each other, such as the nice touch when Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) gave his chance at DiNozzo’s apartment to McGee (Sean Murray). New relationships are not easy, but this team is growing tighter by the week when Torres and Reeves (Duane Henry) have a chance to bring the funny.
NCIS also stars David McCallum, Pauley Perrette, Brian Dietzen, Emily Wickersham and Jennifer Esposito.
Tonight’s guest cast includes Laurie Perkins, Angelo Tiffe, Jeff Griggs, June Schreiner, Michael Canavan, Mary Anne McGarry, Katherine Disque, Tom Costello, David Lengel and Brad Grunberg. “Pay to Play” was written by Cindi Hemingway and directed by Arvin Brown.
NCIS airs tonight (December 6) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS in the U.S. and on Global in Canada.
