Have you been pining for ARCHER? Well pine no more, because Sterling Archer and the gang are returning for their seventh season tonight!
But before we get to their new chapter, FX is taking us on a trip back through ARCHER history with videos showcasing each of the main characters’ best moments of the series (some of the videos warn some scenes may be NSFW).
Meanwhile, in the new season, Sterling Archer and his friends are officially out of the spy game (again). But instead of turning to a life of crime like they did in the “Archer: Vice” season, the gang is staying on the straight and narrow.
Sort of.
Having relocated to sunny Los Angeles after being blacklisted by the CIA, the group has created The Figgis Agency, a private investigative business (so named as Cyril is the only one among them with the necessary hours to obtain his P.I. license — a detail which bothers Archer to no end). They’re looking to put their spy skills to use serving Hollywood bigwigs. But business isn’t really booming and the group is at each other’s throats. Now that they don’t have access to all of the resources and intelligence they used to enjoy, everyone is confronted with having to work that much harder.
Then one day the beautiful Hollywood actress Veronica Dean walks into the agency with a job: she needs their help in procuring a tape that was taken from her that contains…sensitive information. And off Archer goes, happy to accomplish a task for an actress that he’s clearly enamored with. Eventually this gets the group entangled in a sticky Hollywood conspiracy that confuses everyone.
But before all of that we’re introduced to season 7 via a mystery….one that seems to play out over the first four episodes at least, and likely one that plays out throughout the 10 episode season. We won’t spoil it for you but it’s a bit shocking, and it’s accompanied by a hilarious opening bit by two police officers voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and J.K. Simmons.
ARCHER returns for its seventh season tonight (March 31) at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
