Are you one of the tens of millions of GLEEKS across the globe that were surprised to discover – courtesy of a recent Australian Herald Sun Story — that GLEE creator Ryan Murphy had already put in motion plans to graduate the current crop of McKinley High students in 2012? Well, you weren’t the only ones.
Suffice to say, reading that they may be taking their final bows in a year or two did quite a number on the cast as well.
“We [the cast] were shocked at first, we didn’t know what was going on,” explained GLEE star Jenna Ushkowitz via a phone interview late last week with theTVaddict.com.
Luckily, like that Justin Bieber-centric episode (more on that later) and most everything GLEE-related on the internet, rumors of New Direction’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.
“We talked to him [Ryan Murphy] and he talked to us about it and he never really said that, he kind of said that but he didn’t. It was a little bit of a misunderstanding,” explained the actress. “We’re all going to have to graduate at some point, I don’t think it’s going to be 2012, I don’t really know, but it also doesn’t mean that the show won’t go on without us going to college, another school, or sticking around for a little while. We’ll see what happens, with Ryan Murphy anything is possible.”
