Steven Spielberg Taps DEGRASSI Star Liboiron for Fox’s TERRA NOVA

Do you have aspirations of Hollywood stardom? Are you anxiously waiting to be discovered? Counting down the minutes until your fifteen kick in? Well, forget Juilliard, Hollywood or Broadway and remember where Toronto, Canada is located on the map (Note to America: It’s part of that giant land mass above the the Good Old US of A, just east of Alaska!) because following in the footsteps of Aubrey “Drake” Graham, 90210’s Shenae Grimes and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Nina Dobrev comes the news that current DEGRASSI bad boy Landon Liboiron (pictured above) has been tapped alongside newcomers Naomi Scott and Alana Mansour as one of three kids in Fox’s upcoming sci-fi series TERRA NOVA.

Executive produced by Steven Spielberg, TERRA NOVA follows an ordinary family embarking on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a massive experiment to save the human race. In the year 2149, the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped and overcrowded. With the majority of plant and animal life extinct, devotion to science has brought mankind to the brink of destruction, but has also provided its only hope for salvation.

According to Entertainment Weekly, “Liboiron will play 17-year-old Jim Shannon, who finds a father figure in Frank Taylor (Stephen Lang, “Avatar”). Scott will play his bright, 15-year-old sister Maddy, while Mansour will play Zoe, the youngest child who is smuggled into the time-traveling portal that transports the family to the Terra Nova settlement.” According to us, DEGRASSI just solidified itself as Hollywood’s go-to farm team for the “Next Big Thing.”
