Emmy Predictions 2010: Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

In anticipation of the upcoming 62nd Annual EMMY Awards (Airing Sunday August 29th at 8PM on NBC) theTVaddict.com is proud [or not-so-proud depending on how things turn out] to once again present our GUARANTEED EMMY WINNERS 2010*

NOMINEES: Sharon Gless (BURN NOTICE), Rose Byrne (DAMAGES), Archie Panjabi (THE GOOD WIFE), Christine Baranski (THE GOOD WIFE), Christina Hendricks (MAD MEN), Elisabeth Moss (MAD MEN)

SHOULD WIN: Christina Hendricks, MAD MEN
Just how good was Christina Hendricks? Put it this way: A guy walks into an advertising agency, has his foot severed by a drunken secretary riding a John Deere lawnmower, and yet, at the end of the day, it’s Hendricks’ heartbreaking performance as Joan Holloway that managed to leave the lasting impression.

WILL WIN: Christine Baranski, THE GOOD WIFE
After a long and illustrious career playing strong and independent woman, Baranski’s portrayal of tough-as-nails litigator Diane Lockhart came as little surprise. What did surprise was the amount of levity and romance she brought to her scenes with special guest star Gary Cole, turning what very easily could have been a one-note character into one character to remember.

SNUBBED: Mae Whitman, PARENTHOOD
Despite our overall satisfaction with this categories crop of nominees, Mae Whitman’s portrayal of Lauren Graham’s daughter on PARENTHOOD deserves serious kudos for doing what we — after seven seasons of GILMORE GIRLS — thought was impossible. Got us asking, “Rory Who?”

*theTVaddict.com does not guarantee his “winning picks.” Do not, I repeat, Do not bet the house, kids or family pet on them!
