On March 24 the moment UGLY BETTY fans have waited for long years for will finally arrive. Betty is getting her braces off! But — adhering to the show’s telenovela roots — not before she spins off into a dream sequence where an angelic Dr. Frankel (played by Kathy Najimy) shows her how different her life might have been had she never worn braces to begin with. Think of it as Betty’s very own version of LOST’s flash-sideways: Where Hilda is homely, Ignacio is a compulsive gambler, Marc is a doting dad, Amanda is married to Daniel and glam Betty isn’t so much ugly, as, well mean, and did we mention… in cahoots to bring down Mode with [pause for dramatic affect] none other than Wilhemnia Slater!
