Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Questions with FRINGE Star Blair Brown
How surprised were you by the FRINGE season premiere that had your character Nina Sharp locking lips with Lance Reddick’s Agent Broyles?
Blair Brown: Yeah I think both of us were taken aback. But the beauty about acting in FRINGE is that there is a great narrative with lots of stuff going on, leaving lots of room for actors to act. So what you really need to do is act the possibilities of anything. Last year, Lance [Reddick] and I would be sitting around and wonder who these people are to each other because we’d get lots of stuff that sort of indicated that we’d known each other for a long time. Nina had spotted Broyles in the FBI, mentored him and now this kiss. Yet the beauty of FRINGE is when will it be dealt with again next and what cost does it have?
Speaking of cost, everyone involved with Fringe Division seems to have had to pay some sort of steep price. Olivia was experimented on as a child, Walter spent a lifetime locked away and Broyles lost his wife. What, aside from her arm, did Nina lose?
I really wonder about the arm. I know we say it’s due to cancer, but I’ve always felt it had to do with Nina crossing over. Was I one of the guys [William Bell and Walter Bishop] guinea pigs? We know my arm was used as a storage unit by William Bell which is why I was targeted last year. But there’s a whole lot of mystery out there that has yet to be sorted out.

Separated at Birth: FAMILY GLEE
Dear Seth MacFarlane,
Should you ever find the time to develop a live-action FAMILY GUY adventure — you know, during your spare five minutes between voicing and writing three hit FOX shows (FAMILY GUY, CLEVELAND SHOW and AMERICAN DAD) and your extra-curricular activities that include developing sponsored hilarity for both Google and Microsoft and the occasional FLASHFORWARD guest appearance — we’ve already got you your Neil Goldman. Meet his real-life doppelganger Josh Sussman, GLEE’s resident Rachel Berry stalker Jacob Ben Israel. You’re welcome. Seriously, no executive producer credit necessary.
Sincerely,
The TV Addict
TRUE BLOOD Church Lady Praying For a Hit
Though she was last seen testifying on TRUE BLOOD as a wannabe Tammy Faye Bakker, Kelli Maroney is best known as the 1980s scream queen who starred in Chopping Mall, Slayground and countless other similarly-titled B-movie thrillers. So maybe it makes sense that she’s now hoping to capitalize on her infamy in that genre with her participation in “Homecoming Queen at the End of the World,” the new Halloween single by one of the few rock bands that’ll leave you rolling on the floor laughing – New Orleans’ humbly named Consortium of Genius (think Dr. Horrible… only louder… and horrible-er).
Review: 30 ROCK Season 4
By: Aleks Chan
Sitting in fourth place among the major five broadcast networks — failing to develop a hit since HEROES debuted in 2006 (itself a short-lived victory as the drama’s ratings tumbled quickly thereafter) — it’s no secret that NBC is in dire straits.
So far, the big ‘Jay Leno Experiment’ has only drawn negative results, either performing poorly (though NBC says it’s lower ratings can be afforded by how cheap it is to produce), or diminishing what relative strength the network’s other programs possess (LAW & ORDER: SVU, a longtime steady performer, is sinking in its earlier timeslot).
And now there’s news that Comcast, the largest cable television provider in the United States, is in talks with parent company General Electric to acquire its entertainment division. Could this be NBC’s bailout? I mean, isn’t there something to be said about a once illustrious network that previously commanded the airwaves is now being threatened by a half-baked vampire drama?
More importantly, who gives a damn and why should you care? Ah, it’s because without its network overlords’ turmoil and perfidiousness, 30 ROCK, wouldn’t have nearly as much fodder for its satiric spoofing, many of which hit high comedic points in the first two episodes of the its fourth season, premiering tonight (9:30PM on NBC, CityTV in Canada).
