Jenny’s This Week on TV

Welcome to a new week for This Week on TV! The Fall Season is in full swing and I’m LOVING it. How about you?

SUNDAY

Sunday is the series premiere of Keeping Up with the Kardashians on E! at 10:30/9:30c. This reality series which will track the 26-year-old “model, actress and entrepreneur”, Kim Kardashian, as well as her siblings (sisters Kourtney and Khloe and half-sisters Kendall and Kylie), mom/manager Kris and stepdad Bruce Jenner.

Also, don’t miss the 2nd part of the miniseries The Gathering on Lifetime at 9/8c. The first part repeats before this starting at 7/6c, so if you missed my announcement last night, don’t miss the repeat tonight!

Also on tonight:

MONDAY

Monday is the series premiere of Samantha Who? on ABC at 9:32/8:32c. Christina Applegate stars as Samantha Newly, a woman who awakens from an 8-day coma with amnesia – and the chance to start over in life. It also stars Barry Watson (7th Heaven), Jean Smart (24 and Designing Women), Jenifer Esposito (Related) and Tim Russ (Star Trek: Voyager), Melissa McCarthy (Gilmore Girls) plus has Eddie Cibrian (Third Watch & Invasion) and Kiele Sanchez (Related & Lost) coming on for multi-episode arcs. With that cast, this is soooo going to be one of my new favorite shows!

It’s also the premiere of The Salt n Pepa Show on VH1 at 10/9c. In 2002, at the height of their success, Salt-N-Pepa called it quits. No one was ever quite sure why. Rumors circulated that Salt had found God. Or that Pepa wanted to pursue an acting career. Even as the speculation grew, the girls remained silent. Until now. On The Salt-N-Pepa Show the two ladies are going to give it one more shot. But that’s easier said than done.

Finally, it’s the series premiere of Gotti’s Way on VH1 at 10:30/9:30c. With fresh ink on a new record deal, Irv Gotti intends to reclaim his rightful place in music history by leading Murder Inc., back to the top of the charts and the center of hip-hop. And he intends to do it while holding together his unusual relationship with Deb, and being there as a good father to his kids.

Also on tonight:

TUESDAY

Tuesday has no premieres but there is a new episode of Reaper on the CW at 9/8c. Sam’s request for time off is met with another vessel box, this one to capture the soul of a disgruntled magician who is killing people who do not appreciate his performance. I think this is my favorite new show of the season. It never fails to make me laugh and giggle throughout the entire episode. If you haven’t checked it out yet, PLEASE do! For me! 🙂

Also on tonight:

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday has no premieres either but there is a new episode of Pushing Daisies on ABC at 8/7c. Another strange death leads Ned back to the site of Chuck’s resurrection; pies laced with antidepressants brighten the lives of Aunt Lily and Aunt Vivian. Loving this show, too. *sigh* Ned is VERY dreamy when he smiles! lol

It’s also a new episode of Life on NBC at 10/9c. When a man is found dead in his home, Crews and Reese interview the neighbors, who each have theories as to who the killer is; Constance confronts Crews about their feelings for each other. If you haven’t seen this show yet, check it out, for me, please!

Also on tonight:

THURSDAY

Thursday is the series premiere of Viva Laughlin on CBS at 10/9c. This is a mystery drama with music about eternal optimist and freewheeling businessman Ripley Holden, whose sole ambition is to run a casino in Laughlin, Nev. Occasionally using upbeat contemporary songs to accentuate the drama and humor and advance the story, the series is based on the hit BBC show Viva Blackpool. Don’t expect this one to be a hit or stick around long, I suspect. Blech. lol

Also on tonight:

FRIDAY

Friday is the 2-hour series premiere of The Next Great American Band on FOX at 8/7c. The producers behind mega-hit phenomenon American Idol take the musical reality genre to a whole new performance level with a mission to find undiscovered groups. Singer/songwriter John Rzeznik (The Goo Goo Dolls), legendary percussionist and performer Sheila E. (“The Glamorous Life,” “A Love Bizarre”) and Australian TV personality Ian “Dicko” Dickson (Australian Idol) serve as judges while Dominic Bowden (New Zealand Idol) hosts.
