Hi everyone! Thank goodness the holidays are very nearly over! I had a good holiday season but man, do I miss TV! lol Let’s see what’s new finally this week!
SUNDAY
Sunday is of course New Years Eve, so not much on. Catch the season finale of Sunday Night Football on NBC at 8:30/7:30c.
Then at 10/9c, turn to ABC for Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2007 with hosts Dick Clark & Ryan Seacrest. Scheduled performers include Rihanna, KT Tunstall, Rascal Flatts & the stars of the Broadway musical Jersey Boys. It was sad last year seeing Dick Clark after his stroke. I had my doubts he’d do it this year but… Oh well. lol And man, didn’t there used to be a special on almost every channel on NYE? This year, I only see the one on the schedule. Strange.

MONDAY
Monday is a great day for football fans as well! You can see the Rose Bowl with Michigan vs USC on ABC at 5/4c and the Fiesta Bowl with Boise State vs Oklahoma on FOX at 8/7c! Go OU! (My aunts and mother, as well as my sister, all graduated from there, and my niece is currently attending. 🙂 )
Also new is the season premiere of Wildfire on ABC Family at 8/7c! Kerry’s disappearance and a family member’s death shake the Ritters; Dani takes control of the Davis ranch.

Also new tonight are the return of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, in which Detectives Logan and Wheeler investigate when a Pakistani woman is found murdered after trying to break up an ethnic dispute and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, in which a cancer patient (Brian Dennehy!) makes a deathbed confession involving a number of crimes from decades earlier. Watch them both on NBC starting at 9/8c.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the series premiere of Dirt on FX at 10/9c. Tabloid editor Lucy Spiller will stop at nothing to dig up the Hollywood gossip her readers crave. It stars Courtney Cox, Jeffrey Nordling (who you will recognize from his guest spots of many tv shows, including Providence as Dr David Baylor and Once and Again as ex-husband Jake Manning, among the many, many others.), Josh Stewart (who played Brendan Finney on Third Watch), Carly Pope (who played Sam McPherson on Popular) & Laura Allen (who played Lily on The 4400).

WEDNESDAY
Wednesday really brings new TV back with new episodes of 11 shows! I’ll give shout outs to Friday Night Lights fans with a reminder that it starts in a new time slot TONIGHT on NBC at 8/7c. The Panthers prepare for another game that they cannot afford to lose; Jason finds it difficult to adjust to life at home; Matt’s father returns from Iraq, but the homecoming is not what he expected.
You can also watch the 2-hour season premiere of Beauty and the Geek on the CW network at 8/7c. One of the women is in tears when she must work the Dewey Decimal System; the geeks must perform stand-up comedy; one team is eliminated.
But my tv will be turned to ABC for the season premiere (plus a 2nd new episode!) of According to Jim then the series premiere of The Knights of Prosperity. And finally, watch Courtney Cox’s better half, David Arquette, along with Jonathan Silverman, Kelly Hu, Lori Laughlin and others when a series of calamities reunites a group of former high-school classmates at Los Angeles Westside Hospital in In Case of Emergency!

On CSI, Grissom says goodbye and leaves for a teaching sabbatical. On The Office, Michael returns from his Jamaican vacation and an email of a racy vacation photo makes the rounds of the office. *laugh*
