In an effort to placate disgruntled fans, NBC has made the un-aired episodes of its recently cancelled mob drama THE BLACK DONNELLYS available for download on iTunes. All eight episodes from season one are now available by clicking here.
While on the subject of THE BLACK DONELLYS, how poorly named is its reality show replacement THANK GOD YOU’RE HERE? I have yet to meet anyone who’s ‘thanking God’ that an unfunny reality show has replaced yet another quality scripted drama.

If you’re anything like me (and odds are, if you’re reading a website called theTVaddict.com we have at least ONE thing in common), your iPod is partially filled with songs you’ve heard on television. Television is the new radio and nobody knows this better than the networks themselves.
For years, popular television shows such as 90210, DAWSON’S CREEK, SCRUBS, THE OC, GREY’S ANATOMY and VERONICA MARS have been dictating what’s new and popular in the world of music. As a result, CBS has recently re-launched CBS records. Which will leverage the power of their prime time line-up to build awareness for their new artists.
By now of course you’re probably asking yourself, “umm why exactly should I care?” How’s this for an answer? It means FREE Music for you!

Showtime has passed along a link to the season premiere of their latest show THIS AMERICAN LIFE. You can watch it for FREE online by clicking here. While I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, word on the street — or more specifically the internet highway — is that it’s worth checking out. Post away with your thoughts and reviews.
One of theTVaddict.com’s all time favorite comedies has finally found its way onto the iTunes Store. The first season of NEWSRADIO, one of those under-rated, under-appreciated NBC gems of the mid-90s is now available for download. Also available from Sony Pictures Television are ‘TIL DEATH, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, SPIDER-MAN (The Animated Series), STARSKY & HUTCH and CHARLIE’S ANGELS. You can check them all out by clicking here.
Nothing starts off a week on a better note then FREE TV ONLINE and this week we’ve got a ton of new and exciting choices (How else are we going to get through that ‘pesky work week’?). NBC, hoping to generate buzz for two of its newest series have made them available for free on iTunes and online. You can check out Andy Richter’s newest stab at sitcom success on iTunes or NBC.com.
Sadly, we at theTVaddict.com are still trying to figure out why America didn’t fall in love with ANDY RICHTER CONTROLS THE UNIVERSE (oh wait, it was on FOX — see FIREFLY, PROFIT, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT etc.) Here’s hoping love-able Andy has better luck on NBC.

Let’s face it, the inconveinent truth of the matter is that it’s far too cold to venture outside today. Why not grab a snack — I myself am thinking hot chocolate and popcorn — curl up in front of your computer and watch two new pilots courtesy of theTVaddict.com.
Pilot #1: THE BLACK DONNELYS
Premiering this Monday on NBC at 10PM, THE BLACK DONNELLYS follows the exploits of four young, working-class Irish-American brothers and their involvement in organized crime in New York City. The Donnelly brothers will do anything to protect each other against all odds. The ensemble cast includes the incredibly photogenic Kirk Acevedo, Thomas Guiry, Billy Lush, Keith Nobbs, Michael Stahl-David, Jonathan Tucker and Olivia Wilde (Marissa’s lesbian fling on THE OC).
The pilot was directed by Haggis, who also wrote the Academy Award-winning “Million Dollar Baby.” Haggis and Moresco are the creators and executive producers.

Pilot #2: THE TUDORS
Shooting on location in Ireland, THE TUDORS revolves around Young King Henry VIII, played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The Showtime Original Series also features a stellar cast lead by Sam Neill, Jeremy Northam and Natalie Dormer. For a first look at the pilot, click here and enter the password ‘Sneak Peek’. As you know by now, nothing makes this TV Addict happier then free iTunes television downloads. Okay, a few things make me happier, but seriously free stuff rocks. So here it goes, a quick guide to what’s new and free on iTunes.
Hoping to expand its audience, CBS is offering up the first episode of RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, a funny yet somewhat generic CBS sitcom. But don’t let me tell you what to watch, click here to judge for yourself. MTV is giving us the first episode of the new season of THE HILLS [click here]. And FOX is trying something that’s never been done before (and while I applaud them for their innovation, they lose marks for not giving us a free taste). Also new to iTunes today is EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, ROBOT CHICKEN and GIRLFRIENDS (seven years on the air and I’ve yet to see an episode!)
Fans of HAIRSPRAY will not want to miss tonight’s installment of UGLY BETTY. Check out a preview clip of Justin singing “Good Morning Baltimore” for a not so pleased father. Any guesses as to how long it will be until we see an UGLY BETTY musical episode? Or how about an actual UGLY BETTY MUSICAL! (Thanks to theTHEATREaddict for the tip!)
Two more television shows you’ll know doubt be familiar with have joined the iTunes Store. Season Four of ONE TREE HILL as well as the second season of MY NAME IS EARL are now available to download for a mere $1.99 per episode. Good to know it will be really easy to catch up on the season in case in case I decide to end my ONE TREE HILL moratorium.
And last but certainly not least, MeeVee.com has just relaunched their web site. If you’re looking for a more technologically advanced TVGuide, one that allows you to input your favourite actors, genres, and keywords to create your own unique television schedule, then MeeVee is for you. More exciting for theTVaddict.com is the creation of “Blog Central.” Where you’ll find news and views from the best television sites on the web, including articles from yours truly theTVaddict.com. We here at theTVaddict.com wish MeeVee the best of luck on the re-design and relaunch.
theTVaddict’s favourite subject — Free TV shows on iTunes. This week there’s quite a few to choose from. Sci-Fi fan? Why not check out the series premiere of THE DRESDEN FILES. Football fanatic, download ESPN’s second season premiere of TWO-A-DAYS (sort of a real-life FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS). Looking for some more realistic housewives, Bravo has released the second season premiere of THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY. Does Bravo not realize that sadly, THE OC just isn’t cool anymore? And finally, miss BAYWATCH? Why not check out Court TV’s real life look at lifeguards. BEACH PATROL is now available to download. It’s pretty much BAYWATCH, with smaller ‘floatation devices.’
Just a quick heads up to my fellow BATTLESTAR GALACTICA addicts out there. Okay, who are we kidding — If you’re addicted to Starbuck (the girl, not the coffee) you’re already counting down the minutes until 10PM tonight when BATTLESTAR GALACTICA returns for the second half of its third season (SCI-FI in the US and SPACE in Canada).
