Here’s why ROSIE simply rocks (yes, you heard me Mr. Trump!). This morning on THE VIEW Rosie brought on a young girl named Stephanie to talk about how she deals with having Cystic Fibrosis. At the end of the conversation, Rosie asked Stephanie what her favourite musical was. Apparently, they bonded over their mutual love of musical theatre, specifically RENT. Rosie asks Stephanie to start singing “500,250,600 minutes…” and anyone who’s watched even a few minutes of ROSIE or THE VIEW knew where this was going. By the second chorus, the entire cast of RENT comes on stage, and sings along with Stephanie (who of course was completely shocked and amazed). It was a beautiful moment, and yet another reason why Rosie is awesome. Check out the clip below.

According to Access Hollywood, Rosie O’Donnell is preparing to leave THE VIEW for NIP/TUCK. Apparently, during a commercial break on THE VIEW, Rosie told the studio audience that she’s been offered the female lead of the show since Joely Richardson is leaving for a year. According to Access Hollywood:
She said that she’d play the character of Dawn Budge, who was introduced in a guest role this past (the show’s 4th) season. Dawn would be the owner of the plastic surgery center and do things like “sneak Cher in the back door” and then hire paparazzi to take pictures. Rosie added that it would be a 15-week shoot in LA. She didn’t say if she was going to do it, but it sounded very much like she’s leaning towards it.
No word on how this could affect her schedule with THE VIEW, but Rosie has said that she’s only signed on to co-host for one season of Barbara Walters’ morning talk-fest.
With the exception of the COLBERT REPORT and THE DAILY SHOW, I no longer watch talk shows any longer. I simply can’t stand the generic celebrity interviews that are completely rehearsed with a publicist standing close by to make sure we only see the actor’s incredibly fake public persona. Yet once in a while, a celebrity goes off the edge (ie. Tom Sellick on ROSIE a few years back, Tom Cruise on OPRAH, or Farrah Fawcett on LETTERMAN), and for those rare occurences, I’m thankful for YouTube.
Today, Danny DeVito was on THE VIEW. He was completely drunk [allegedly] and apparently had yet to go to sleep from a dunken night out with George Clooney. His interview is hysterical, real and quite unbelievable. It’s shocking to see, for once, a celebrities real personality. I honestly can’t believe he was allowed on the air. Check the clip out for yourself above.
Recently on THE VIEW Rosie accused Kelly Ripa of a homophobic comment with regards to co-hosting LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY with Clay Aiken this past Friday (See the video on YouTube). This morning, Kelly called into THE VIEW to defend her actions to Rosie. Kelly stated, “You have to be more responsible, Not everybody is homophobic.” See the video below.
Firstly, serious kudos to Kelly. She defended her position perfectly and definitely put Rosie in her place. While I’m a huge Rosie fan, in this TV Addict’s opinion, Kelly was 100% in the right here. Rosie definitely jumped the gun on calling out Kelly.
That said, can I just say how much I love YouTube. Whether it’s a funny SNL sketch (a rarity indeed), the brilliant Jon Stewart or irreverent Stephen Colbert — I can always count on YouTube to have that must-see clip from an episode I may have missed. YouTube has not only changed the way we talk about television, it’s helped revitalize the television industry. Clips on YouTube drive traffic to TV, which in this era of a million and one things to do with your time, is a great thing for the medium we all love.
Okay, I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for ROSIE! She’s back on THE VIEW and so much fun
11:02AM: Joy makes the first Tom Cruise joke…. audience goes nuts! The flowers on the set were sent from Tom.
11:05AM: Rosie mentions her family, four minutes in.
11:06AM: The set is new, really bright blue. It’s nice. Woman are talking about Terrorism, back to Joy’s daughter, she’s engaged. I’ve never watched this show before, really… do all these woman just talk about is their life? Joy’s new son-in-law is a doctor’s assistant… isn’t that a NURSE! Seriously, nothing wrong with being a male nurse!
11:09AM: Rosie is asked about Kelli and being a Lesbian. Didn’t take long! Now Rosie and Barbara are talking about Rosie’s Blog!
