Good News, Bad News: TERMINATOR, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, Horatio Sanz & More!

November 25th, 2008

Good News: According to a recent report, Americans are watching more TV than ever. Bad News: Notable exceptions to ‘more TV than ever’ unfortunately include PUSHING DAISIES, ELI STONE and DIRTY SEXY MONEY. [Source]

Good News: TERMINATOR THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES delivered two fairly shocking reveals in last night’s can’t miss episode. Bad News: With a season low 4.62 million viewers, most of you missed it! Begging the question, what’s the deal? [Source]

Good News: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA unveils an epic final season promo. Bad News: There’s still 49 days until the Frakkin’ season premiere! [See Video]

Good News: Horatio Sanz reveals his weight loss secret. Bad News: Turns out eating better and exercise are kind of a big deal. Which is a shame, because this TV Addict was sort of hoping his ’secret’ didn’t involve eating less burgers, pizza and hot dogs. [Source]

Week in Rewind: UGLY BETTY, TERMINATOR, 90210 & More!

November 24th, 2008

BETTY’s Back: Marc and Betty’s all too brief (see video above) albeit incredibly heart-warming moment at the end of Thursday’s BETTY was the highlight of what is shaping up to be an increasingly entertaining season. And no, we’re not just saying that because Michael Urie is our new Twitter BFF.

9021Oh-Oh: Here’s something for the brains behind 90210 to ponder while their show is on holiday hiatus. Thanks to Tuesday’s not-so-subtle hint at an unexpected bundle of joy for Adrianna, an absolutely ridiculous story involving Annie hiding the fact that she’s the school mascot and the truly unoriginal idea that the Wilson family’s newly discovered half-brother Sean is (surprise, surprise) up to no good, this TV Addict will be spending his holiday hiatus debating whether or not to return to the zip when 90210 returns in January.

Hasta La Vista Toby Zeigler: TERMINATOR THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES showrunner Josh Friedman may not makes thing easy with his penchant for time travel story-lines that make our head spin. But after giving us an hour of the artist formerly known as David Silver (Brian Austin Green) going manno a manno the artist formerly known as Toby Ziegler (Richard Schiff) we’re willing to let it go.

TERMINATOR Showrunner Josh Friedman Answers Some Burning Questions

November 11th, 2008

cromartie garret dillahunt

If you’re anything like this TV Addict (ie: one devilishly handsome television fanatic), odds are fairly good that following last night’s gripping installment of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES you were left wondering a few things. Namely, is Cromartie really “dead,” what is John Connor’s “tell,” and how is it that a killer robot sent from the future can’t seem to hit the broad side of an escaping car whilst firing and Uzi and a shot gun at the same time!

Of course not being named any of the following — Mo Ryan, Tim Goodman, Michael Ausiello, Matt Webb Mitovich, Kristen Dos Santos, Korbi Gosh… well, you get the idea — your very own TV Addict couldn’t exactly get showrunner Josh Friedman on the phone following the episode. Rather, I had to brave the hordes of overly-excitable TERMINATOR fans in order to pose a few questions to Friedman, who alongside episode writer Dan Thomsen and actor Garret Dillahunt were kind enough to chat with fans and a TV Addict in disguise following last night’s episode. (Just wait until my legal name change goes through. I mean which showrunner in their right mind is going to not pick up the phone for Mo Goodman Ausiello dos Mitovich!)

(Editor’s Note: Questions asked by the TV Addict are indicated, all others asked by fans)

How did Garret Dillahunt handle learning that he’d be “killed” off?
Josh Friedman: Garret took it well when I told him he was a goner. He said: whatever’s good for the story.

The TV Addict: Have we really seen the last of Cromartie?
Garrett Dillahunt: The writers won’t let us discuss the rest of the season, but I think its safe to say you haven’t seen the last of me.

Exclusive Interview: Is Stephanie Jacobsen a Robot Sent From the Future to Kill John Conner? Read and Find Out!

November 3rd, 2008

stephanie jacobsen terminator interview

Okay, now that we’ve got your attention with our snazzy albeit slightly misleading title, we’ve got some bad news for you. Stephanie Jacobsen wasn’t about to spoil all of the fun by revealing whether or not she’s you know, a killer robot sent from the future to kill John Connor. But the good news is that the charming and beautiful Australian native was more than happy to discuss her brief stint on MARS (LIFE ON MARS that is), what’s in store for Jesse when TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES returns tonight and what it was like to break onto the scene in the incredibly well received BATTLESTAR GALACTICA telefilm RAZOR in this TV Addict’s exclusive interview. Spoilerphobes Beware…

Before we delve into your work as Jesse on TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES I’d like to ask a question about your breakthrough role as Kendra Shaw in BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: RAZOR. Where you pleased with how the film turned out and taken aback by how positive both the fan and critical reaction was?
Stephanie Jacobsen: Having been somewhat familiar with the series and the production quality, no I wasn’t that surprised. I knew that RAZOR was going to be good, whether or not I was good was a separate issue entirely (TV Addict Note: She was!) But I was pretty confident that Ronald D. Moore and his entire team were going to make something special out of it. It really was a beautiful story.

I’ve been an enormous admirer of the way in which Michelle Forbes [Admiral Kain] brings such intensity to all of her roles. What was it like working with her in RAZOR?
Michelle Forbes is a lovely and generous actor. Her character was powerful and intense so she inherently has those qualities in her. But as a person she’s very laid back, amicable and absolutely a pleasure to work with.

Even though Kendra Shaw’s fate seemed somewhat inevitable. Were you, as an actress, sad to see your character die?
As much as I would have loved to go back and do more work on BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, I do feel that it was inevitable and that had Kendra survived it would have detracted from the potency of RAZOR. Obviously what happened in the end was the ultimate sacrifice and that was such a poignant thing that I don’t think it could have been put across any other way.

Got a Question for Stephanie Jacobsen?

October 30th, 2008

stephanie jacobsen

Tomorrow at noon, this TV Addict has the distinct pleasure of interviewing the beautiful and talented Stephanie Jacobsen. So if you’ve got a question for the current TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES and former BATTLESTAR GALACTICA star, please feel free to post them in the comments below.

You Are Getting Sleepy….

October 20th, 2008

Sleepy enough to tune into tonight’s brand new episodes of CHUCK featuring a butt-kicking guest spot by Nicole Richie [8PM, NBC] and TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES with BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s Stephanie Jacobsen [8PM, FOX].

[8:30PM UPDATE] Just wondering if my nifty little hypnotic image is working?

TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES… Will Be Back… For the Rest of the Season!

October 18th, 2008

The good news, Sarah Connor’s fight for the future just got a little bit easier thanks to a report from The Hollywood Reporter that FOX has officially given TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES a full season pick up.

The bad, FOX’s welcome, albeit surprisingly early vote of confidence for TERMINATOR does raise some very interesting questions. Namely, where exactly will the show air when the juggernaut known as AMERICAN IDOL [not to mention 24] return in January? Does the pick-up have anything to do with all the troubling behind-the-scenes rumblings coming from the DOLLHOUSE that is Joss Whedons. And finally, what does this mean for Thomas Dekker’s role in the upcoming big screen remake of FAME that was scheduled to start shooting in February? Stay tuned…

TV News that Makes Us Smile

October 12th, 2008

FOX has given TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES showrunner Josh Friedman the go-ahead to write two more additional episodes. [Source]

In an effort to compete with the ever-increasingly pupularity of Hulu, YouTube has begun posting full-length television shows such as STAR TREK THE ORIGINAL SERIES, BEVERLY HILLS 90210 and THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. [Source via TVTattle]

With the success of the CW’s 90210 re-boot, Darren Star has acknowledged that he’d be interested in pursuing and a MELROSE PLACE spin-off. Revaling to TVGuide.com that “I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened — If it can be put together in the right way.” [Source]

Ask the Addict: HEROES, THE RICHES, TERMINATOR, SUPERNATURAL & More!

October 8th, 2008

Now that you’ve heartlessly dropped HEROES from your weekly schedule, what’s next on the TV Addict’s chopping block? — Misty

The TV Addict: Would you think any less of me if I said PUSHING DAISIES? Because truth be told, stunning visuals and Kristen Chenoweth are quickly starting to lose their appeal amidst the overly cutesy and continuously confounding series. That said, I’m not prepared to bury DAISIES just yet. In other-words, Bryan Fuller, you’re on notice.

I just saw this message about THE RICHES being canceled and I have to say, this really sucks. Is there any hope for some kind of closure, a two-hour movie perhaps to wrap up the series. I’d think FX would want to thank their loyal viewers for all of their support. — Patrycjusz

The TV Addict: In a perfect world, I couldn’t agree with you more. In fact, nothing bothers this TV Addict more than when loyal viewers are cheated out of a proper ending to a series they’ve invested hours of their life in. Unfortunately our world is far from perfect. Just ask the fans of DEADWOOD, AMERICAN DREAMS, LAS VEGAS and OCTOBER ROAD how their happy was.

Any news on the fate of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES following Monday’s episode. — FightingForTheFuture

The TV Addict: Well the good news is that TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES actually showed a small bump in viewership on Monday, up approximately 300,000 viewers. The bad news, 5.6 million total viewers doesn’t exactly guarantee the continued adventures of Sarah Connor. Which means I’d get your….. umm….. what exactly are we sending FOX in support of TERMINATOR?

Tonight’s TV Addict Must Watch: TERMINATOR THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES

October 6th, 2008

terminator the sarah connor chronicles

Since FedEX quite literally failed to deliver the early look at tonight’s installment of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES that was promised to theTVaddict.com. This TV Addict had to pad his numerous reasons as to why you can’t miss tonight’s episode with a few slightly fictional ones. See if you can spot the, as Stephen Colbert might put it, “Truthiness.”

1. First and foremost, if the ratings don’t improve, Tonight may mark the final Chronicle in Sarah Connor’s small screen adventure. And if you ask us, a mere fourteen episodes in is far too early to say “Hasta la vista baby!”

2. After sticking with BEVERLY HILLS 90210 for its entire ten year run, does Brian Austin Green not deserve to catch a break? I mean, aside scoring Megan Fox as his girlfriend.

3. And speaking of Megan Fox. Rumor has it that the “Proverbial Powers that Be” are hoping to snag Brian Austin Green’s real-life girlfriend for a guest starring gig should TERMINATOR get picked up for the rest of the season. And would a Summer Glau Megan Fox girl-fight not put ALIAS’ Sydney Bristow versus Evil Francie to shame?
