If you missed last Thursday’s episode of SCRUBS, you not only missed one of the funniest Janitor gags ever (check out ‘Ghost Janitor’ on YouTube), you also missed out on Keri Russell’s triumphant return to primetime TV.
Now before you pull a FELICITY (or is it a BRITNEY now?) and shave your head in anger — mark your calendar. You’ve got one more chance to see Mrs. Russell in action. She’ll be back starting at 9:20PM this Thursday May 3 for a very special super-sized edition of SCRUBS.
In need of a Russell fix right away? Why not head on over to theTVaddict.com Screening Room and watch as Keri Russell talks about her character on SCRUBS, her experience on the set and what it was like reuniting with FELICITY co-star Donald Faison.
As I finished watching tonight’s installment of THE OFFICE [interesting episode to say the least] I was shocked to hear the NBC voiceover guy say, “stay tuned for the first of the final four episodes of SCRUBS.” All together now — Whaaat!
Not only did NBC take the time to promote SCRUBS — something they rarely bother to do but the voiceover guy (or is it artist?) didn’t say “…this season,” he simply said “the final four episodes of SCRUBS!” Is it me, or did NBC just subtly announce that this is the end of the line for SCRUBS?
Is anyone else completely psyched for tonights return of MUST SEE TV COMEDY NIGHT DONE RIGHT on NBC? TIVO/PVR/VCR users take note, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK and SCRUBS are all super-sized and start at really strange times
8PM: THE OFFICE
8:44PM: 30 ROCK
9:23PM: SCRUBS
9:59PM: ANDY BARKER, P.I.
10:28PM: MY NAME IS EARL
Was anyone else incredibly disappointed by last night’s second episode of OCTOBER ROAD? While stars Bryan Greenberg and Laura Prepon are holding their own, I’m not sure even they can help prop up some of the worst writing to hit TV since the heydays of Aaron Spelling. When Greenberg starting singing showtunes outside the dean’s window, I was this close to turning off my TV. Rest assured ABC, I’m not ready to drive off this road just yet, but I’m getting awfully close.
Speaking of disappointment, last night’s GREY’S ANATOMY continued the show’s streak of mediocre episodes since the second part of the big three part February Ferry Crash. I honestly found myself bored, which is an adjective I’ve never associated with GREY’S ANATOMY. Here’s hoping one of the ‘ideas’ in Dr. Sloane’s plan to be chief included Seattle Grace becoming interesting again.
And finally SCRUBS. As much as critics and fans are quick to point out that the show is on its last legs, SCRUBS never fails to surprise. While the death of a cast member has been rumoured all season, but truth be told, I thought Jordan would be the one to go. Sure Nurse Laverne was the obvious choice, but SCRUBS rarely chooses the obvious path, and Laverne seemed almost too obvious. For six years we’ve watched weekly aspatients die in Sacred Heart. It’s going to be really interesting to see what happens next week when a true member of the family passes on.
Looks like we’re going to get that final helping of Turk-ey Bacon after-all. Reuters is reporting that Zach Braff is about to sign a deal to ensure SCRUBS sees a seventh and final season. According to Reuters:
“The actor has cut a one-year deal with “Scrubs” producer ABC TV Studio that will pay him about $350,000 per episode for the 2007-08 season of SCRUBS”
Of course, the deal only happens if NBC picks up SCRUBS for a seventh season. But considering the network is investing significant dollars on their new marketing campaign “Comedy Night Done Right,” we at theTVaddict.com think a pick-up is a sure thing. Afterall, without SCRUBS, is comedy night really done right? We certainly doesn’t think so!
Thanks to Watch With Intelligence for the Tip!
A Memo to SCRUBS creator and show-runner Bill Lawrence,
There’s no denying the fact that for nearly six seasons you’ve provided viewers with countless episodes filled with laughter, emotion and more laughter. As long as we live, we’ll never forget the brilliance and originality of Dr. Acula, floating head doctor, Turk getting jiggy with it, Ted, The Janitor, Kelso’s ’son issues’, The Todd and more moments too numerous to mention. That said, I never thought I’d see the day when SCRUBS would sink to the level of HOME IMPROVEMENT and employ the dreaded classic sitcom clip show.
A clip show!? Seriously, a frakkin’ CLIP SHOW! Why Bill Why? Did your brilliant musical episode really take that much out of the cast and writing staff?
Okay, perhaps I’m a tad melodramatic (as The Fray’s HOW TO SAVE A LIFE plays in my head). After-all, even with a clip show, you still managed to give us two hilarious moments (Turk—ey bacon, and J.D. joke comment about The Fray). For now, I’m going to let your generic sitcom screw-up slide. Just promise me it won’t happen again. You do not want to risk the wrath of an angry TV Addict — or an even angrier Janitor who’ve I’ve paid to exact my revenge.
Keep up the great work,
Daniel (theTVaddict)
Still need a little proof that SCRUBS is worth your time tonight? How about a funny interview with stars Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke. Click here to head on over to theTVaddict.com Screening Room to check it out. And be sure to put down any drinks before watching — we at theTVaddict.com can’t be responsible if you spill your coffee all over your company’s computer due to uncontrollable laughter. ‘Comedy Night Done Right’ begins at 8PM tonight on NBC.
For five weeks we’ve enjoyed a jam-packed Thursday night of television. But today is March 1 — and the party — or February Sweeps to be more specific, is officially over. That said, thanks to NBC’s ‘COMEDY NIGHT DONE RIGHT’ we’ve still got half a night of new comedy to look forward to (and one TV addict who’s already been brainwashed by NBC’s new marketing campaign).
Starting at 9PM with SCRUBS, the staff remembers past events while helping a patient regain his memory. Hmmm.. Would creator Bill Lawrence really sink so low as to give us a clip show? Tune in tonight find out. Following SCRUBS is the funniest new comedy this season — 30 ROCK starring the brilliant Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. On tonight’s episode, Jack gets a hip-hop producer to endorse his family’s line of wines. No doubt hilarity will ensue.
For a guaranteed laugh, tune into SCRUBS and 30 ROCK tonight. Afterall, NBC does promise ‘Comedy Night Done Right’ — and if there’s one thing a television network would never do, is hype up a show’s laugh-factor to attract viewers. But seriously, trust theTVaddict.com with this one (have I ever steered you wrong?). Gives SCRUBS and 30 ROCK a chance and you’ll most definitely laugh out loud, or at the very least crack a smile. If you don’t, I’ve got some shocking news for you — you may be a cylon.
Has anyone successfully been able to log onto TheToddTime.com? Since Todd wore his ‘TheToddTime.com’ tshirt on last night’s episode of SCRUBS, this TV Addict has been feverishly trying to log on to find out what TheToddTime.com is all about. (At this point I can only imagine there are only links to Banana Hammock online stores and photos of The Todd shirtless.) If you’ve had success reaching TheToddTime.com, do us a favour and let us know what we’re missing.
[Update 12PM] TheToddTime.com is now up and running. As expected, it’s a WHOLE LOT OF TODD!

The Time: 9:27PM, The Place: My living room.
As we were nearing the end of last night’s episode of SCRUBS, two thoughts were running through my mind. One, I can’t believe I skipped GREY’S ANATOMY for an Ausiello cameo on SCRUBS. And two, I can’t believe after all the hype, Ausiello was cut out of the episode! Of course just as I started typing a post to that effect, Michael Ausiello appeared on screen for an ending so shocking it would give LOST’S “Challah” (or is it “Matzo Ball”?) a run for its money.
WOW, I did not expect Kim to pull one over JD and actually keep the baby a secret from him. I fully expected the writer’s of SCRUBS to take the easy way out — have Kim lose the baby — thus allowing JD to continue living his life as a perpetual university student. And by that I mean continue to date and break up with beautiful women with virtually zero consequences.
Of course, now the question remains: When and how will JD discover that he’s still a father-to be? My guess, the final scene of the season finale in May! Stay Tuned….
Finally, Ausiello if you’re reading this [and I know you keep your press clippings]. Well done with your ten second cameo. I truly believed you were a Doctor. You delivered an Emmy worthy one line performance. And you never know, if Ellen Burstyn can snag an Emmy nod for fourteen seconds of work, maybe you’ve got a chance as well.
Note to readers: If you happen to blink often, you may have missed Ausiello’s cameo on SCRUBS. Click here to check it out.
