The TV Addict and Sarah Wayne Callies in Los Angeles, August 2008
Providing hope to the hundreds, possibly of thousands of television stars who unfortunately found themselves at the wrong end of an enormously gruesome knife, Dr. Sarah Tancredi is back. And at the recent FOX Fall Press Junket, this TV Addict was given the fantastic opportunity to talk to the absolutely luminous, not to mention surprisingly tall Sarah Wayne Callies about what it is like to return to the role that took her out of the library and into the homes of millions of fans around the globe.
What does it feel like to be back on PRISON BREAK this season?
Sarah Wayne Callies: It’s definitely odd from a performance standpoint, because psychologically, my relationship to ‘Sara’ was over. But I’d never come back to a character I put away and resuscitating Sara was a very new and exciting process for me. In a way I consider it great practice because there’s a history in theatre of returning to the same character and bringing something new to the role.
Also, being back at work is great. It’s a really good group of people and it’s always nice to work with people who you trust and with whom you have good relationships with.
Did the media frenzy that followed your character’s apparent beheading last fall surprise you?
Honestly, I’m pretty insulated from all the media attention. I don’t really get any magazines, I don’t have a television and I don’t allow myself to go online and look at those kinds of things. Although my husband does periodically monitor things.
Just when you thought it was safe to return to your favorite show, this TV Addict arrives with a warning.
Rest assured, “Prison Break Death Shocker!” is not a desperate attempt to attract your attention. I mean we’re talking the internet here. If eyeballs were my only concern, I’d have posted a title like “[Insert your favorite celebrity] Nude.” Seriously. You would not believe whay people spend their time at work googling. Today alone, visitors to the site have already found theTVaddict.com by searching “Mary Louise Parker Nude”, “Chace Crawford Hot” and “Jensen Ackles Girlfriend.” But I digress.
Being one of the lucky few journalists who have had the privilege of viewing the fourth season premiere of PRISON BREAK, this TV Addict just wanted to take a moment to remind fans not to get too comfortable. This is after-all the show where anything can happen, and often does.
If you were one of the thousands of angry PRISON BREAK fans who swore to never watch the show again following Sara’s untimely ‘death’ — yet now find yourself scrambling to catch up prior to the show’s September 1, two-hour return. Well, the TV Addict is here to help.
In anticipation of the new season, not to mention PRISON BREAK Season 3 being released on DVD this Tuesday August 12. TheTVaddict.com thought we’d make one lucky reader’s day by giving away a free copy of the entire season on DVD. To enter, simply answer the following question in the comments below. How many episodes do you think it will take for Michael and Sara to be reunited.
One winner will be chosen at random on Tuesday August 13th and notified via email. So please be sure to leave a comment with a valid email address.
I think it was my generations Plato, Homer Simpson who said it best. When he summed up his feelings in one succinctly brilliant word. “D’OH!”
Can someone tell me why exactly your very own TV Addict didn’t throw caution/responsibility/financial security to the wind and shell out the bucks to head to Los Angeles for last night’s FOX SUMMER TCA PARTY? I mean talk about your hindsight is 20/20. A mortgage payment would have been a small price to pay to spend the night hobnobbing with the likes of J.J. Abrams, Joss Whedon, Lena Heady, Thomas Dekker, Summer Glau, Hugh Laurie, Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, Wentworth Miller, Brian Austin Green, Olivia Wilde… well you get the idea.
So a quick heads up friends. If you notice anything ‘wonky’ on theTVaddict.com throughout the day. And by ‘wonky’ I mean spelling and grammar mistakes above the usual levels. Please keep in mind that they’re simply a bi-product of the incredibly large amount of tears that are pouring down on my keyboard at this very moment.
Seriously, how did I NOT attend this party. I mean click the link below for more of what I missed.
FOX kicked off the start of the network side of the Television Critics Association Press Tour [TCAs] with a — wait for it — PRISON BREAKfast. Your chance to share hash-browns and bacon with the stars of the show’s fourth season: Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, and the shocking return of Sarah Wayne Callies, complete with her head still attached. There was an entire breakfast buffet laid out, complete with iced down buckets of Yoo-Hoo, and prison-orange tablecloths, but everything quickly devolved into the “corral the actors with your microphones” game. And luckily, we were able to nail down Wentworth Miller and Sarah Wayne Callies for some questions and a scant few secrets about what to expect for the show that will this season feature PRISON BREAK ins instead of outs.
Simply click play for the interview featuring Miller and Callies and be sure to check back later in the week for words with Dominic Purcell.
Happy Fools Day everyone! Sarah Wayne Callies is returning to PRISON BREAK. What’s that? It’s not April first? WTF?!?!?
No joke folks, executive producer Matt Olmstead just confirmed in an interview with TV Guide’s Super Scooper Michael Ausiello that the team at PRISON BREAK has entered the Guinness Book of World Record’s. For the biggest shark jump ever.
Apparently, Sara’s head wasn’t in the box. Let the Michael Ausiello interrogation begin.

Yup, taking my television addiction to new heights, this TV Addict has travelled from Toronto to Los Angeles today to attend the FOX January Launch celebrating TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES. Yes clearly, the TV Addict has a problem.
That said, I can’t wait to provide you all with all the scoop that’s fit to print. Not only will I be attending the TERMINATOR launch tonight, I’ll be spending tomorrow interviewing some of the stars of your favorite FOX shows. So if you’ve got a question for the cast of TERMINATOR, BACK TO YOU’s Patricia Heaton and Fred Willard, UNHITCHED’s Craig Bierko, PRISON BREAK’s Amaury Nolasco, Dominic Purcell and if we’re very very lucky BONES’ David Boreanaz — post away in the comments below.

Recently, the TV Addict got a chance to sit down and talk with PRISON BREAK star Robert Wisdom. Not wishing to ruin the roller-coaster ride responsible for the show’s success, Wisdom was pretty tight-lipped on what fans can expect from his self-appointed Sona Prison Boss Lechero. Yet was kind enough to talk about the differences between acting on HBO’s critically acclaimed series THE WIRE and FOX’s action-packed PRISON BREAK.
The TV Addict: As an actor do you prefer the gritty realism of THE WIRE or the blink-and-you’ll-miss excitement of PRISON BREAK?
Robert Wisdom: I really don’t have a preference. All I can say is that I’m extremely proud to have taken part in THE WIRE story. THE WIRE is one of the great experiences in my life and something that I never expected.
PRISON BREAK is an equally great opportunity, yet completely different. The show allows for a completely different type of acting. It’s a fantasy, hype-real almost graphic novel SIN CITY kind of thing. It’s great fun, but as an actor I take a completely different approach.
While I know you’re not about to spoil what happens next. Can you give us a hint as to what’s in store for the fans as the season progresses?
In order to get a third season, the PRISON BREAK writers really had to up the ante. This season is about to get a lot more intense and high risk. It’s a really great ride, truly a modern day television roller-coaster.
But that’s about all I know. I learn things as the fans learn things. I don’t read scripts until the day before we shoot them because I don’t want a future plot points to change how I’m acting in the current episode. PRISON BREAK is far more fun when you don’t know what’s going to happen next!
