Recently, we at theTVaddict.com made the mistake of knocking MEDIUM in our 2007 May Finale Guide. Much to our surprise, the show has a dedicated and vocal fan base and were quick to come the defence of the Patricia Arquette NBC drama. Who knew people watched this show? Seriously, we had no idea it was so popular.
Thus, in an effort to make amends, here’s a piece of news that is guaranteed to put a smile on the face of MEDIUM fans everywhere. Today, NBC issued an early fourth season renewal for its acclaimed drama.
“MEDIUM is a quality show with an outstanding star that has always delivered a very loyal audience,” said NBC president Kevin Reilly. “We are pleased to know that we can look forward to more of its unique storytelling next year under executive producer Glenn Gordon Caron’s superb creative vision.”
And with that, it’s time for the obligatory run of inane ‘pyschic’ puns. Hmmm… I wonder if the cast and crew saw this renewal coming? Okay, on a more serious note, an idea for NBC president Kevin Reilly. Prior to announcing NBC’s fall schedule next week, perhaps Reilly may wish to consult a medium of his own. After this season’s string of high profile failures — STUDIO 60, KIDNAPPED and THE BLACK DONNELLYS — we at theTVaddict.com think he could use all the help he can get.
