Live Blogging the LOST Season Finale

May 29th, 2008

8:40PM: T-Minus twenty-one minutes and counting.

9:02PM: An obituary for Jeremy Bentham? Or is it Jeremy Benson?

9:04PM: Kate tells Jack she “spent the last three years trying to forget all the horrible things that happened on the day we left.” Ohhh, this is going to be so good.

9:05PM: Hey “Credits”… way to ruin the surprise by flashing Alan Dale and Malcolm David Kelly’s names.

9:08PM: Finally someone’s asking Ben straight up, “Why are you so important!?” Too bad Ben as per usual answers a question with a question, “Did Charles Widmore ask you to kill my daughter?”

9:14PM: Was that not the best fight scene since ALIAS’ Sydney vs. Evil Francie?

9:21PM: Anyone else weirded out by Old Walt?

Live Blogging the LOST Season Finale

May 29th, 2008

Remember LOST? That slightly addictive show that chronicles the adventures of some really unlucky castaways. Well it turns out, the adventure isn’t over and Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Co. were simply taking a week off so that the pretty doctor’s at Seattle Grace could sort out their, well sordid love lives.

And in celebration of tonight’s two-hour finale, one that Daniel Dae Kim promises will, “introduce new variables that would never even be considered previously,” this TV Addict will be LIVE BLOGGING the entire two hours. So why not drop by theTVaddict.com at 9PM tonight so that we can all drop our jaws together. [And note, that was not supposed to sound nearly as dirty as it does!]

LOST Live Blog: 9PM Tonight

March 20th, 2008

9:00PM: Walt, Anna Lucia, Libby… it has been so long. Any bets as to who’s going to get killed tonight? Things aren’t looking up for poor Miles.

9:05PM: Michael is “Here to die?” Umm.. did actor Harold Perrineau get arrested for a DUI that we didn’t hear about?

9:16PM: Interesting that Michael has a death wish. So to did Jack in May’s season finale. Coincidence, not on LOST.

9:19PM: Is that Libby!?!?! Holy Frak! How did the vision inducing smoke monster get into Michael’s hospital?

9:24PM: Mr. Friendly! Today’s episode is playing like a ‘best of’ installment. Who’s next, Greg Grunberg?

LOST Live Blog: 9PM Tonight

February 21st, 2008

9:05PM: Hey LOST Addicts, what did that guy yell at Kate (doing a killer Jennifer Garner impersonation by the way) as she walked into the courtroom? No doubt it’s a piece of the puzzle.

9:15PM: Kate has a son!!! Holy Frak!!!! Who’s the Daddy? Oh wait… isn’t that another QUESTION. Damn you LOSTerminds Lindeloff and Cuse…. DAMN YOU!!! [With apologies for the exclamation point overkill]

LOST Live Blog: 9PM Tonight

January 31st, 2008

lost live blogging

8:56PM: “We have to go back Kate… we have to go back!” Who’s psyched for four minutes from now?

9:04PM: The Oceanic SIX…. so we’ve just confirmed that at least six of our favorite Losties got off the island. Jack, Kate and Hurley are confirmed survivors. How much more fun is LOST already? Every episode it’s going to be a surprise. Flashback or Flashforward? Are we getting a Hurley flash-forward or a Jack one?

9:07PM: What exactly did Hurley see in the convenience store? Final shot of the show prediction. We’ll discover who is in the casket.

9:18PM: Is it too early to start screaming, “I want answers?” Anyone…

SAG Awards Live Blog

January 27th, 2008

9:54PM: Daniel Day Lewis just dedicated his Best Actor SAG award to Heath Ledger. Unparalleled acting ability aside, you heard it here first, Lewis just sealed his Oscar win.

9:39PM: Ruby Dee wins for Female Supporting Actress in a Drama for her work in AMERICAN GANGSTER. Which would excite me more if I knew who Ruby Dee was or if I’d seen AMERICAN GANGSTER.

9:36PM: Viggo Mortensen or Jeremy Irons? You decide.

9:27PM: Is their some sort of unwritten rule requiring every award show’s ‘In Memoriam’ to use the soundtrack to THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION?

9:25PM: Queen Latifah wins for Best Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries. Unfortunately, she is not in attendance and thus will not be bringing down da house.

9:18PM: Is it wrong that I’m sometimes okay when an actor isn’t in attendance to accept an award?

9:10PM: Charles Durning receives a lifetime achievement award. Offers up a classy short and sweet acceptance speech. Future winners take note.

8:53PM: Wait a tick! All the glitz and glamour of the SAG awards is really a rouse in order to teach us about the Guild’s history. Memo to SAG. If I wanted to learn, I wouldn’t be watching TV.

8:51PM: Best Ensemble in a TV Comedy goes to THE OFFICE. Can you really argue with the brilliance of the Dunder Mifflin denizens. Well, I’m going to try. Love THE OFFICE. But they’ve already won. 30 ROCK’s was robbed. Dot Com, Grizz are not going to be happy.

8:49PM: HBO’s Jeanne Tripplehorn presents with SHOWTIME’s Michael C. Hall… awkward.

8:42PM: The SAG Awards finally do what every other award show on the planet couldn’t seem to manage to do: Ensure Tony Shaloub walks away empty handed for MONK! Congrats Alec Baldwin.

8:40PM: Tina Fey wins. How badly do I want her to take out her acceptance speech and say…. I want to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press. (Note: First Writer’s Guild Thank You. Tina Fey, you’re all class.)

Live Blogging the Golden Globes

January 13th, 2008

9:01PM: Not surprisingly, it took less than a minute for NBC to ensure the audience knew exactly why there was no traditional Golden Globe Ceremony this year. Who knew it was all the WGA’s fault! Thank God for NBC’s completely unbiased coverage.

9:05PM: Proof that Hollywood loves itself far too much. Jeremy Piven wins another Golden Globe. Ted Danson was robbed.

9:06PM: The TV Addict forsees a win for Glenn Close. Suck it Patricia Arquette.

9:08PM: GLENN CLOSE gets a Globe. Hmmm. Perhaps tonight won’t be so bad after-all.

Live Blogging the 2007 Emmy Awards

September 16th, 2007

live emmy blogging 2007

11:09PM: No Brainer of the night. THE SOPRANOS walks away with Outstanding Drama. I’d probably be a bit more emotional had I watched the show.

11:04PM: Tina Fey wants to thank 30 ROCK’s dozens of dozens of viewers. Tina, you’re so welcome. Can’t wait until the second season premiere, which by the way is this October 4 at 8PM. Don’t let 30 ROCK go the way of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. Jump on the bandwagon now!

10:56PM: Shock of the night. James…. waiting for Gandolfini… but no. JAMES SPADER! Seriously. Sleep with one eye open. Gandolfini’s going to be pissed.

10:53PM: America Ferrerra wins…. cue the tear ducts. Mine and hers.

10:41PM: SALLY FIELD and RICKY GERVAIS! Life is Good!

10:39PM: “Ricky Gervais couldn’t be here tonight so instead we’re going to give this to our friend Steve Carrell.” Could I love Stewart, Colbert and Correll anymore?

10:35PM: Colbert and Stewart… thank God… I’m quickly losing Emmy Energy here.

10:20PM: THE OFFICE finally won something. Fellow OFFICE addicts — cancel your suicide plans. It’s all good.

10:13PM: Best line of the night goes to Elaine Stritch. Who’d have thought. “I’m not faking this I really don’t know what the hell is going on.”

10:09PM: TONY BENNETT! Seriously this is getting ridiculous. At least this will give Stewart and Colbert some comedy gold tomorrow night.

10:05PM: Masi Oka’s been spending a little too much time with George Takei. Holy Perfect Annunciation Batman!

9:58PM: Does anyone else vote to cut the EMMY Awards to two hours, and give all the miniseries and movie awards out at the Creative Arts Emmys last week. Seriously, who saw PRIME SUSPECT?

9:55PM: Ryan Seacrest is the Dame Judy Dench of Award Show hosts. He’s had what — 10 minutes of screen time?

9:49PM: How is it that Sally Field at 60ish looks better than most women at thirty?

9:40PM: Jersey Boys or Alvin and the Chipmunks?

9:37PM: Glenn Close, get comfortable. You’re going to be up on stage next year for DAMAGES.

9:26PM: Says Amrie with regards to Tony Bennett’s seemingly unbeatable win streak, “I think he’s got mob connections. it’s the whole sopranos thing.”

9:15PM: David Chase wins what will no doubt be the first of many farewell we love you awards for THE SOPRANOS. I probably should start watching the show.

9:11PM: To quote my friend Emmy Bud: Hayden Panettiere… Prom Queen gone bad? Could Neal Patrick Harris be any cooler?

9:05PM: Rumor Patrol: Anyone else think Milo and Hayden are dating? Amrie does!

8:57PM: Memo to ‘future me.’ If I’m ever nominated for an Emmy against legendary actor Robert Duvall. Don’t waste anytime writing an acceptance speech! Like anyone else had a chance.

8:50PM: Oh Ryan Seacrest is back! Who else forget he was hosting?

8:40PM: Katherin Heigl’s asking price just went up A LOT.

8:29PM: I’m back after enhaling a quick burger and fries. Anyone else thrilled nobody from TWO AND A HALF MEN have won thus far?

8:16PM: TERRY O’QUINN! WOW! That is fantastic ans so well deserved.

8:03PM: FAMILY GUY opens the show by completely slamming television, with special attention to NBC’s struggles… interesting approach. And by interesting, I of course mean somewhat insulting and tastless. I guess the show can only improve from here.

7:49PM: Charlie Sheen just quoted the late great John Spencer…. I will now pause my continual ripping of TWO AND A HALF MEN. Tonight only.

7:43PM: Commercial thoughts. You could not PAY me to eat KFC chicken cheese fries.

7:36PM: Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell, hottest couple ever? If nature has a sense of humour, their kids will look really really ugly. Mabye like this.

7:30PM: Not surprisingly, Neal Patrick Harris suited up!

7:25PM: Vanessa Williams looks awesome. A mother a four, probably in her forties, yet looks twenty. Only in Hollywood.

7:20PM: T-Minus forty minutes until showtime. Time for the most important decision you’ll be making all night — No, not your Emmy pics. What food are you ordering/eating at tonight’s party? This TV Addict will be serving food from Toronto’s best burger joint BURGER SHACK.

7:09PM: Kristen Bell… and the cast of HEROES! Bell she has an awesome super power. Yes, soon the world will know what VERONICA MARS fans have known for three years. Kristen Bell = Awesome.

7:03PM: Julia Louis Dreyfus confirms why I”ll never be a supermodel, explaining how she looks so great, “hard work and healthy eating”… d’oh

6:58PM: Portia De Rossi is on Ellen’s arm. Moment of silence for ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.

6:32PM: Kathie Griffin brought Steve Wozniak as her date to the Emmys. For those of you who don’t speak nerd, Wozniak is the founder of APPLE Computer! Question: What is sadder? That I know who Wozniak is, or that Seacrest doesn’t?

6:25PM: Speaking of objectifying woman — How many times is Ryan Seacrest going to sexually harass the woman he’s interviewing? Ryan, we get it. You’re totally straight.

6:23PM: TV Addict Best Dressed List: Could Ali Larter look any better? Forget dual personality, her new superpower — getting dressed.

6:18PM: If you were Rainn Wilson’s Prom Date…. comment below. Yes we’re talking to you Kathie. Is anyone else weirded out by the fact that OFFICE superfan, the woman behind GMMR is also named Kathie. Umm.. Kathie, is there something you’re not telling us?

2007 Comic Con: LOST Panel

July 26th, 2007

lost comic con panel 2007

3:36PM: Sitting in Ballroom 20 waiting for the LOST panel to start. Bad news, I’ve got an hour and twenty minutes to go. Worse news, the surrounding Comic Con attendees have yet to discover deodorant. Stay Tuned..

4:55PM: T-Minus Five Minutes….

5:12PM: Boy the announcer is on a power trip, she really doesn’t shut up. Panel starting in minutes….

5:19PM: The panel is starting and thankfully some very cool LOSTies have found their way off the island. Joining us on stage are showrunners Damon Lindeloff and Carlton Cuse (both are wearing pants).

5:23PM: Obligatory LOST advertisement… LOST the video game, coming February 2007. The secret of Comic Con — it’s really just one big advertisement! Which by the way works, check out the exclusive first trailer here.

5:26PM: Lindeloff and Cuse have brought along a bell to ring whenever they feel the other one is about to go overboard in terms of spoilers. To quote Homer Simpson, “D’OH!”

5:28PM: The firing line begins… Fan Q&A… Get Ready.

5:30PM: Lindeloff and Cuse are asked about the writing process… SNOORE! To sum up, all writers contribute, yet in the end, Lindeloff and Cuse have the final say. Great waste of five minutes fanboy. Here’s hoping the rest of the event’s questions are better [they are!]

5:33PM Lindeloff swears his pants are already off…. tells the audience to watch his left hand. Audience groans, Cuse rings the bell. Audience laughs.

5:35PM Fan question: Where’s Michael??? As announced yesterday at those pesky TCA’s… Harold Perrineau will be back this season. Way too ruin the fun so-called TV critics!

5:36PM: Cuse and Lindeloff promise MORE FLASH FORWARD scenes in future episodes. Cuse says: “Going forward, the show will feature flashbacks and flash forwards.” Lindeloff: “But how forward and with whom — the audience will be pleasantly surprised.”
