Live Blogging the LOST 5th Season Premiere

January 21st, 2009

8:59PM: Let’s get ready to live blog…

9:10PM: Eleven minutes in and this TV Addict’s mind is already officially blown! The entire island went back to the future?! Holy Frak!

9:15PM: As the island goes, so to does Sawyer’s six pack. Awkward pause as I reflect on the fact that Sawyer has really let himself go!

9:21PM: Three quick questions to ponder over the commercial break. Is Lock in the same time period as the rest of the islanders? Is that Ethan who just pulled a gun on Locke? And on a far less serious note, did Canadian Geese just cause another plane crash?

9:28PM: Hurley to Sayid after he was kind enough to break him out of the mental institution, “Maybe if you eat more comfort food, you wouldn’t have to go around shooting people.”

66th Annual Golden Globe Awards Blog Live

January 11th, 2009

11:45PM: Thanks to everyone who stopped by tonight’s Golden Globe Awards Live Blog. Before we call it a night, sleep on this. With SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE opening in India next week. What are the odds the entire county has already seen it thanks to the proliferation of pirated DVDs and BitTorrent?

11:02PM: NBC completely drops the ball as whomever accepted the award for SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE totally drops the F-Bomb!

11:00PM: And at the stroke of 11PM, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE wins a much deserved statuette for Best Motion Picture Drama.

10:57PM: Mickey Rourke wins for Best Actor in Motion Picture Drama and thanks his dogs saying, “Sometimes when a man’s alone, all you got is your dog” Never one to pass up an opportunity to shamelessly pimp my dog, here’s a peak at the TV Addict’s adorable Goldendoodle ‘Mac’.

10:49PM: Twitter friend @BradInToronto wonders, “if Elisabeth Moss is giving Jeremy Piven dirty looks from the stage.”

10:46PM: MAD MEN finally slays the HBO juggernaut winning the Globe for Best Television Drama. Matthew Weiner gives a fairly uninspiring speech. But on the plus side, his price tag just shot up in the season three negotiations between himself, Lionsgate and AMC.

10:40PM: Shocker! Kate Winslet wins a second Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for REVOLUTIONARY ROAD. Who’s the king of the world now?

10:30PM: We’re going to have to disagree with Salma Hayek and Sandra Bullock who most definitely do not think presentor Sasha Baron Cohen is funny. VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA wins the Golden Globe for Best Comedy in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.

10:20PM: Colin Farrell wins a Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy statuette for IN BRUGES.

10:14PM: Danny Boyle wins a Best Director “GG” (as he very affectionally calls the Golden Globes) for SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE.

10:01PM: Stephen Spielberg gets the Cecil B. DeMille Award and this TV Addict gets a blogging break. Phew.

September 21st, 2008

10:56PM: MAD MEN’s win for Outstanding Drama and 30 ROCK’s win for Outstanding Comedy are much deserved. You know what else is deserved? Far larger audiences! So be sure to give quality television a chance and check out MAD MEN on AMC at 10PM on Sundays and don’t miss 30 ROCK’s return to NBC on October 30. You can also check out 30 ROCK Season 2 on DVD this October 7. Seriously people, these are two of television’s finest. How ’bout giving quality TV a chance.

10:50PM: Jeff Probst wins the inaugural Emmy for Outstanding Reality TV Host.

10:46PM: And the number one sign you know your Award Show stinks, when Jimmy Kimmel is the highlight.

10:40PM: Tina Fey takes home an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy for 30 ROCK.

10:38PM: Bryan Cranston wins Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama for BREAKING BAD. WOW! I really have to pick up that DVD when it’s released.

10:34PM: I can’t decide if George Carlin or Bernie Mac won for loudest applause during the annual ‘In Memoriam’ segment.

10:29PM: Glenn Close wins Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for DAMAGES and gets cut off by ABC because the show is so behind. Ridiculous.

10:26PM: Shoe-in of the night, Alec Baldwin wins for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his brilliant work on 30 ROCK.

10:25PM: Paul Giamatti who won for Lead Actor in a Miniseries so isn’t getting any tonight. He decided to thank his fake TV wife [Laura Linney] rather than his real one. Did you catch her reaction?

10:16PM: MAD MEN sweep back on track. Matthew Weiner walks away with an Emmy for Best Writing in a Drama Series.

10:15PM: Let the MAD MEN sweep beg……. HUH! Greg Yaitanes wins a Best Directing Emmy for HOUSE.

10:09PM: Don Rickles win for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Musical special, ensuring tomorrow night’s COLBERT REPORT will truly be Must See TV.

10:08PM: Kristen Chenowith and Neil Patrick Harris’ bit was cut thanks to Howie Mandel’s prattling. DAMN YOU HOWIE MANDEL!!!

90210 Series Premiere Live Blog

September 2nd, 2008

90210 cast live blog

6:13PM: True or False. The most anticipated event in the history of television commences in less than two hours!

7:20PM: T-Minus thirty-nine minutes and counting. In case you’re wondering, this TV Addict’s passing the time plowing through one of last season’s best new dramas, ELI STONE on DVD.

7:54PM: With last night’s second season premiere of GOSSIP GIRL debuting to its second best numbers ever [3.4 million viewers] it’s time to place your bets. How many eyeballs will tonight’s premiere of 90210 snag? Did I mention there’s six minutes until the premiere!

8:10PM: LOVED IT! Now for the hard part. I’ve got a mere two minute commercial break to rant and rave. So a few points if I may: Shenae Grimes, adorable and so definitely not in Degrassi Kansas anymore! “What is that girl, like 30″ OMFG! Did Gabrielle Carteris just get mocked, awkward. The capitol of Kansas is Topeka? Who knew. And finally, I certainly hope the CW is getting some serious coinage from the producers of SPRING AWAKENING for the most ingenious product placement in the history of Television. SMALLVILLE take notes will you.

Live Blogging the LOST Season Finale

May 29th, 2008

8:40PM: T-Minus twenty-one minutes and counting.

9:02PM: An obituary for Jeremy Bentham? Or is it Jeremy Benson?

9:04PM: Kate tells Jack she “spent the last three years trying to forget all the horrible things that happened on the day we left.” Ohhh, this is going to be so good.

9:05PM: Hey “Credits”… way to ruin the surprise by flashing Alan Dale and Malcolm David Kelly’s names.

9:08PM: Finally someone’s asking Ben straight up, “Why are you so important!?” Too bad Ben as per usual answers a question with a question, “Did Charles Widmore ask you to kill my daughter?”

9:14PM: Was that not the best fight scene since ALIAS’ Sydney vs. Evil Francie?

9:21PM: Anyone else weirded out by Old Walt?

Live Blogging the LOST Season Finale

May 29th, 2008

Remember LOST? That slightly addictive show that chronicles the adventures of some really unlucky castaways. Well it turns out, the adventure isn’t over and Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Co. were simply taking a week off so that the pretty doctor’s at Seattle Grace could sort out their, well sordid love lives.

And in celebration of tonight’s two-hour finale, one that Daniel Dae Kim promises will, “introduce new variables that would never even be considered previously,” this TV Addict will be LIVE BLOGGING the entire two hours. So why not drop by theTVaddict.com at 9PM tonight so that we can all drop our jaws together. [And note, that was not supposed to sound nearly as dirty as it does!]

LOST Live Blog: 9PM Tonight

March 20th, 2008

9:00PM: Walt, Anna Lucia, Libby… it has been so long. Any bets as to who’s going to get killed tonight? Things aren’t looking up for poor Miles.

9:05PM: Michael is “Here to die?” Umm.. did actor Harold Perrineau get arrested for a DUI that we didn’t hear about?

9:16PM: Interesting that Michael has a death wish. So to did Jack in May’s season finale. Coincidence, not on LOST.

9:19PM: Is that Libby!?!?! Holy Frak! How did the vision inducing smoke monster get into Michael’s hospital?

9:24PM: Mr. Friendly! Today’s episode is playing like a ‘best of’ installment. Who’s next, Greg Grunberg?

LOST Live Blog: 9PM Tonight

February 21st, 2008

9:05PM: Hey LOST Addicts, what did that guy yell at Kate (doing a killer Jennifer Garner impersonation by the way) as she walked into the courtroom? No doubt it’s a piece of the puzzle.

9:15PM: Kate has a son!!! Holy Frak!!!! Who’s the Daddy? Oh wait… isn’t that another QUESTION. Damn you LOSTerminds Lindeloff and Cuse…. DAMN YOU!!! [With apologies for the exclamation point overkill]

LOST Live Blog: 9PM Tonight

January 31st, 2008

lost live blogging

8:56PM: “We have to go back Kate… we have to go back!” Who’s psyched for four minutes from now?

9:04PM: The Oceanic SIX…. so we’ve just confirmed that at least six of our favorite Losties got off the island. Jack, Kate and Hurley are confirmed survivors. How much more fun is LOST already? Every episode it’s going to be a surprise. Flashback or Flashforward? Are we getting a Hurley flash-forward or a Jack one?

9:07PM: What exactly did Hurley see in the convenience store? Final shot of the show prediction. We’ll discover who is in the casket.

9:18PM: Is it too early to start screaming, “I want answers?” Anyone…
