With Webster’s Dictionary defining ‘addict’ as “a person who is addicted to an activity, habit, or substance” this TV Addict has made the difficult decision to put the ‘TV’ in theTVaddict.com up for sale.
This is not a decision I’ve reached lightly, but the networks have quite literally given me no choice. I mean how on earth can one seriously call themselves a bona-fide TV Addict when they’re no longer addicted to television?
June hasn’t been easy.
Since collecting my jaw off the floor following LOST’s May 29th finale this TV Addict has gone from a weekly schedule that reached into the double digits to five shows which include IN PLAIN SIGHT, SWINGTOWN, PASSWORD, WEEDS and THE SECRET DIARY OF A CALL GIRL.
Which brings me to how exactly this TV Addict has been filling the ridiculously large void left by not feeling compelled to catch the latest episodes of AMERICAN GLADIATORS, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, THE BABY BORROWERS and THE MOMENT OF TRUTH.
TheITUNESaddict: Thanks to iTunes, I’m one episode away from completing the most surprisingly entertaining new series of the season. Not only was ABC Family’s GREEK the perfect balance of compelling stories and interesting Cartwrights, Cappie, Calvin, Chambers… errr, I mean characters. It proved that a show’s college are anything but boring. Here’s hoping the GOSSIP GIRL and 90210 show-runners are taking studious notes.

With new TV scarcer than answers on LOST, you’re probably wondering how this TV Addict has been occupying his time since well, Thursday’s phenomenal GREY’S ANATOMY two hour season finale. Truth be told, it hasn’t been easy. But in between panic attacks, hours spent curled up in the fetal position crying and calculating the number of days until the start of the new Fall season, this TV Addict is managing.
How exactly? Here are few tips.
MOVIES: They’re like TV shows, only more expensive and on bigger screens. Recent recommendations include INDIANA JONES, IRON MAN and SON OF RAMBOW.
CABLE: Sure things look bleak now, but new seasons of MAD MEN, WEEDS, ARMY WIVES and THE SECRET DIARY OF A CALL GIRL are just around the corner.
GREEK: Having finally tired of being told by virtually everyone that I, “like totally must watch GREEK” this TV Addict caved and downloaded the first three episodes via iTunes. And while I’m the first to admit that it’s quite possible I’m simply too old to be watching a show aimed at High School/University students — Holy Parent’s Television Council Batman — this TV Addict cannot believe what GREEK is getting away with on a channel with ‘Family’ in the title. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving the show, but I certainly would not feel comfortable watching it with my family. I mean I’m still recovering from the time my Dad walked in on me watching AMERICAN PIE during the now infamous Apple Pie scene!
THE OUTDOORS: Now I know what you’re thinking. Nature, fresh air, physical activity, overrated. But trust me, there are some things that can’t be replicated even if you did just recently purchase a Wii Fit and 50″ HD TV.

You guys know I love Greek – any chance I get to talk about the show, I jump on it. Jacob Zachar (Rusty Cartwright) was kind enough to spend some time talking to me about his character, his show and how he’s bringing the funk back to California!
I love the show – immediately hooked on it from the first episode.
Jacob Zachar: Thank you very much.
How did Rusty happen for you?
I moved out here from Chicago to LA. I started getting some auditions and Greek came up. I actually auditioned for the role that Clark had (Dale) first. They ended up switching me around and asking me if I wanted to read for Rusty and one thing led to the next, and I ended up getting Rusty. It kind of appealed to me a little bit more. I feel Dale’s more of a character, far out kind of role, and this part of Rusty’s like a Boy Scout, traditional type of guy. I had a lot of things that I related to, so I think it came a lot easier actually.

In anticipation of the return of GREEK tonight on ABC Family, actor Scott Michael Foster was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule to talk about what it’s like playing everybody’s favorite frat boy Cappie.
Why did you want to play Cappie and why do you like playing Cappie and what about this role is good for you to want to play it, to be it?
Scott Michael Foster: Cappie is a fun loving party animal. I would like to think of myself as a person who can get parties started, but I’m not. I will enjoy parties and attend them, but I’m never the guy who can get them going. So playing a character like that is a lot fun, to be the person in charge of a fun party atmosphere. It was kind of cool to live in those shoes for a moment, that’s why it’s a lot of fun for me to play him.
My question is about Cappie and Casey. I was wondering how their relationship is going to evolve now.
In season two, Cappie and Casey, they sort of have busy lives apart from each other. Cappie is involved with Rebecca, as you see at the end of season one, and their relationship blooms in season two. Casey is busy with becoming interim president at Theta Beta, so they don’t ever get a chance to sort of talk or assess their situation. So you won’t see much in season two with them, but their time will come.
