As readers of this website can attest to, I’m only slightly obsessed with EVERWOOD. So before we get into V, I first have to ask you about your experience on the show.
Scott Wolf: I consider myself really lucky to have been able to have been a part of some really great stories and some really great casts but that one was really special, some of my greatest memories are of being part of the cast of EVERWOOD. As you probably know I was not part of the original cast and in a way I was sort of joining their Christmas dinner. But they were just really incredibly welcoming and the writers gave me some really fun stuff to do. I don’t have a typical bad guy face so anytime I’m cast as a good guy who has some baggage and some issues to work out it was fun. Plus, it was so nice to be a part of telling really compelling stories that years later people still stop you and say how much they loved. It really means something to me and is one of my favorite aspects about what I get to do.
Had the show not been unceremoniously cancelled by the CW (yup, still bitter) would viewers have been treated to the return of Dr. Jake Hartman?
While there was nothing ever really definitive at the time, I felt ready to potentially move onto other opportunities. I had only actually signed on to do one season of the show but was having so much fun and saw so much potential for the character that I think everybody felt it would be good to extend my stay to two seasons. And at two seasons, while they weren’t killing Jake — and there was always potential he would show back up in town — it felt like the story had come to a place where it made sense for Jake to move on.

According to Gregory Smith’s Facebook status (and backed up by imdb and twitter), he’s most definitely not in EVERWOOD any more. In fact, he’s in his hometown of Toronto! Although it’s not yet been confirmed, it appears Smith has joined REAPER’s Missy Pergrym in the cast of the currently-shooting pilot COPPER. Billed as GREY’S ANATOMY meets NYPD BLUE, the series — following five pals enduring life as rookie cops — is a co-production between ABC and Canada’s own GLOBAL TV. The cross-border partnership makes sense seeing as the show was co-created by Tassie Cameron, who was one of the players involved with CTV’s FLASHPOINT, which proved surprisingly successful when aired by CBS. No definite airdate has been set, but the series is expected to hit the airwaves in 2010.
3.6: Average number of viewers (in millions) that EVERWOOD attracted in their final season.
2.2: Number of viewers (in millions) that the CW’s highly buzzed about GOSSIP GIRL attracted to their recent season finale.
89: The number of episodes that EVERWOOD lasted.
10: The number of episodes RUNAWAY lasted, the CW’s short-lived EVERWOOD replacement. And yes, in case you’re wondering, we’re still bitter.
18: The number of readers who have complained about EVERWOOD overload on theTVaddict.com today.

”When I say ‘chick,’ I mean ‘woman — beautiful woman from the service industry.’ ” Bright Abbott, after referring to a ”Hot Waitress Chick,” on EVERWOOD.

In honor of EVERWOOD’s second season being released on DVD today (which FYI, we’re going to be talking about a lot today), theTVaddict.com proudly presents our Top 5 favorite episodes from the second season, having just devoured the entire box set over the course of the weekend.
1. Episode 22: The Day is Done
Two years after they first laid eyes on each other, Ephram and Amy finally answer the question of will-they-or-won’t-they when Amy surprises Ephram by joining him for two weeks in New York just prior to the start of his Juilliard Summer Program. Plus: Harold — whose practice has been put on hold thanks to Linda failing to disclose her HIV status — opens a Abbott’s Bagel Shoppe! Needless to say, hilarity ensues.
2. Episode 20: Do or Die
Two Words: “The Promebego!” Also known to you EVERWOOD neophytes as the behemoth of a contraption that Bright rents out to enjoy his senior prom (complete with three dates chosen ‘Bachelorette’ style) as only Bright can.

With the second season of EVERWOOD being released tomorrow on DVD, where millions of fans will finally learn the outcome of Colin’s life-and-death season-one ending brain surgery (Spoiler Alert! It didn’t go well!) theTVaddict.com thought it might be fun to look back and see, you guessed it, “Where are they now?”
Treat Williams (Dr. Andy Brown):
Following four years of playing a world-renowned brain surgeon turned small-town Doctor that culminated in a happily-ever-after with the literal girl next door Nina Feeney, Williams returned to life-and-death organ transplant surgery with his short-lived TNT series HEARTLAND and can next be seen alongside Teri Polo, Luke Perry, James Van Der Beek, John Larroquette and David James Elliott in the upcoming miniseries THE STORM (NBC, July 26).
Gregory Smith (Ephram Brown):
For a kid who spent four seasons playing a character whose only wish was to escape small town life, actor Gregory Smith has quickly learned that the grass is not always greener following a series of box office duds (Closing the Ring, The Seeker and Boot Camp) post-EVERWOOD. Smith can next be seen in the season finale of ELI STONE airing on July 11, which fans (okay, me) hopes will inspire Smith to return to what he does best: A weekly television series.
Emily VanCamp (Amy Abbott):
There’s something to be said for sticking with what you know and following four years of family drama — the highlight of which included dating a boy in a coma only to spend a season spiraling out of control after said coma boy’s untimely death — VanCamp has done just that. Parlaying her starring role on one Greg Berlanti series into another by joining that crazy Walker clan on BROTHERS & SISTERS and successfully finding the one family whose outbursts could give Andy and Ephram Brown a run for their money. BROTHERS & SISTERS aside, VanCamp can next be seen in the ABC miniseries BEN-HUR, currently shooting in Morocco.

We’re not gonna lie, running one of the web’s most popular television blogs does have its privileges. Take tonight for example — rather than to endure repeats of FLASHPOINT or worse, a new episode of ABC’s highly unfunny SURVIVING SUBURBIA — this TV Addict is reveling in his very own EVERWOOD marathon.
Yup, season two finally comes to DVD this Tuesday, and to kick start the celebration (which rest assured, will culminate in your very-own chance to win a copy of season two on DVD on Tuesday), we simply couldn’t wait to share this photo of episode two’s fashion-forward guest star Kristen Bell! Seriously, Kate Gosselin’s getting credit for what now?!
In Day 2 of theTVaddict.com’s Summer Survival Guide, we take a look at affordable, brilliant-but-cancelled TV on DVD that are a must own for TV Addicts everywhere.
KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL
Before THE HANGOVER propels small screen star Bradley Cooper into the big screen leading man that he so richly deserves to be, why not be the quasi-obnoxious guy/gal who can say, “I remember him when!” by checking out his 13 episode stint as brilliant bad boy chef Jack Bourdain, in the short-lived FOX series that took us behind-the-scenes of the zany and unpredictable world of New York Eateries. A behind the scenes that we should also mention features an unforgettable supporting cast including Nicholas Brendon, John Francis Daley, Jaimie King, Bonnie Somerville, Owain Yeoman, John Cho, Frank Langella, Sam Pancake and guest appearances by John Larroquette and Michael Vartan. (Only $13.99 on Amazon)
