SMITH is officially the first show to be cancelled. The Ray Liotta heist drama will be replaced temporarily by reruns of CRIMINAL MINDS and CSI. I love Ray Liotta and was hoping to get into the show, I just didn’t have time to fit it into my schedule yet. I guess I can delete the three episodes of SMITH that I have saved on my PVR.
The more I think about it, the more I loved LOST’S third season premiere. Henry Gale (aka Ben) is the best television villain since Arvin Sloane in his heyday (ALIAS season 1 & 2).
Kudos to NBC for giving the writers of KIDNAPPED enough time to write a proper ending to what is now a 13 episode series. Thanks for actually respecting the fans and not pulling a ‘REUNION’ on us.
30 ROCK premieres this Wednesday on NBC. Having seen the pilot, I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed by a series premiere. I’ve loved Tina Fey’s work on SNL and MEAN GIRLS. Note to Fey: This isn’t Saturday Night Live, it’s a comedy series: You’re expected to be funny.
How is it that the sixth season of DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION premieres in the United Stated before it does in Canada? DEGRASSI is Canada’s most popular export. How on earth do our friends to the south get to see if first? Once again CTV, wake up and respect your audience.
In anticipation of DEGRASSI’S return to the airwaves for a sixth season (Fridays at 9PM on the N, starting September 29), the TV addict will be interviewing two of the show’s biggest stars. So if you’ve got any questions for JAMIE JOHNSTON (Peter) and LAUREN COLLINS (Paige), please post below or email theTVaddict at info@thetvaddict.com.
the TV addict recently bumped into a star of DEGRASSI TNG on the streets of Toronto (there’s one good reason about living in Canada eh!). That said, I was lucky enough to pick up some scoop about the upcoming sixth season. Highlight the white text below to discover what will happen to one of your favourite students.
One of our favourite Degrassi students will be stabbed this season by a student from a rival school.
Well, I am officially all caught up on 5 seasons of Degrassi: The Next Generation and I could not be happier. What started as an evening of watching the show because I was trying to stay awake one night while babysitting, has quickly turned into an addiction that I didn’t know I would experience for a little show like this!
After having seen the season finale of Season 5, and having turned my roommate into a D:TNG addict in the process, I am so excited for the premiere of Season 6, and I want to reflect on 10 things that keep me coming back to this charming little show -
Degrassi has changed their opening just in time for the start of the sixth season. Personally, I like the original opening, but judge for yourself. Stay tuned to theTVaddict.com for interviews with your favourite DEGRASSI actors prior to the start of the season.
I’m declaring today, FREE TV DAY! CTV (a Canadian network) has launched CTV ON DEMAND. Through CTV ON DEMAND, you can watch episodes of CTV original programming, including DEGRASSI TNG, INSTANT STAR, CANADIAN IDOL, and CORNER GAS. Click this link to check it out.
Last night theTVaddict was invited to attend ‘ON THE RISE’, a special event honouring Toronto’s up and coming young actors and actresses. Some notable actors and actresses in attendance were Dean Armstrong (Queer As Folk, Rent), Jamie Johnston (Degrassi The Next Generation), John Breggar (Degrassi The Next Generation), Ishan Davé (Renegade Press), Julia Schneider (Sue Thomas FBI), and Kate Todd (Radio Free Roscoe). As she comes into view, I’m surprised to see just how incredible Lauren Collins looks in person. For a girl that’s been through a lot, and I mean some serious Degrassi-esque high school drama (rape, drugs, student/teacher affairs and a school shooting - you know, the usual high school experience) she’s still happy, greeting fans and well wishers with a smile and a handshake. And why shouldn’t she? Lauren recently graduated from high school (both in real life, and in TV) and can currently be seen on both the big and small screens. I had the lucky opportunity to talk to Lauren after the Toronto premiere of her latest feature film TAKE THE LEAD starring a little known Spanish Hearthrob Antonio Banderas.
theTVaddict.com is thrilled to announce that our first Exclusive Celebrity Interview will be with Lauren Collins. Lauren currently stars as Paige, on Degrassi The Next Generation (New episodes air on the N at 8pm on Friday, and CTV in Canada).
Throughout its five seasons on the air, Lauren’s portrayal of Paige has lead her to become a fan favourite. As she puts it, her class is “the most cursed class in history.” As Paige herself has been date raped; hooked up with a student teacher, getting him fired; got high, blowing her college interview; and most recently, experimented with switching teams, dating Alex. You can learn more about Degrassi by visiting the official web site. You can also check out Lauren Collins official web site by clicking here.
theTVaddict’s history with Degrassi goes back a long way. In fact, a little known fact is that theTVaddict’s cousin is Stephanie K (’all the way with Stephanie K’) from the original series. While I’ve got a lot of questions for Lauren, I’d love to be able to ask your questions, so if you have any for Lauren, post below or email info@thetvaddict.com
