September 25th, 2009

… and lives to tell about it.

Morning Static: David Boreanaz, Lena Headey, Jon Gosselin & More!

September 2nd, 2009

Welcome to our morning round-up of big/interesting TV news that you may have missed over the past 24 hours because unlike us, there’s a fairly good chance that have a life outside of the small screen.

Good News: On Monday, David Boreanaz and wife Jaime Bergman welcomed a healthy baby girl into the world. Bad News: Named Bardot, which probably won’t serve her well in the school yard. Better News: Until of course the kids realize, “Wait your dad is David Boreanaz!” [People]

Let history show that on Saturday August 29th at 8:45PM Twitter officially became uncool. Thanks @jongosselin1.

Where’s the Love for BONES?

March 25th, 2009

david boreanaz

Is David Boreanaz the new Rodney Dangerfield? That’s the question this TV Addict finds himself asking after yesterday’s TV Week headline announcing that “Fox Orders Six Scripts for BONES for 2009-10 Season.” I mean come’on FOX, six scripts? Get serious!

The Week in Rewind

September 29th, 2008

Most Unfortunate Show Title of the Week
With FOX’s DO NOT DISTURB officially becoming the first causality of the fall season, this TV Addict must now ask the slightly obvious yet incredibly awkward question. Who picked the title?  I mean far be it from a lowly television blogger to criticize the ‘Proverbial Powers that Be,’ but would it not have made a little more sense to go with a slightly more positive moniker? Something along the lines of CHECKIN’ IN! GOING UP! FILLED TO CAPACITY! THE UNTITLED JERRY [DON'T HATE ME BECAUSE I'M MARRIED TO REBECCA ROMIJN] O’CONNELL PROJECT. We’re just sayin’ DO NOT DISTURB practically dared the audience not to tune in. And unfortunately mission accomplished.

Career Misfire of the Week
After requesting to be released from his duties as President Laura Roslin’s right-hand man on BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, actor Paul Campbell has unsuccessfully leveraged his upward momentum into a failed Bill Lawarence pilot for THE WB [NOBODY'S WATCHING] and a supporting role on the this week’s embarrassingly bad KNIGHT RIDER re-boot. Which begs our second question of the week. Who’s Mr. Campbell taking career advice from, Vincent Chase?

Ridiculous Plot Contrivance of the Week
If you ask us, the brains behind LIPSTICK JUNGLE laid it on a little too thick in an effort to ensure the sympathy vote went their series regular’s way. Not only did they turn Nico’s barely-cold-in-the-ground husband into an equal opportunity cheater [gasp!]. They gave him a baby on the way and made sure Nico discovered he already had one foot out the door [double gasp!]. What’s next? An untimely connection to Lehman Brothers? Could Nico’s husband really have been responsible for America’s recent economic woes? Stay tuned…

Inside the FOX SUMMER TCA Party

July 15th, 2008

I think it was my generations Plato, Homer Simpson who said it best. When he summed up his feelings in one succinctly brilliant word. “D’OH!”

Can someone tell me why exactly your very own TV Addict didn’t throw caution/responsibility/financial security to the wind and shell out the bucks to head to Los Angeles for last night’s FOX SUMMER TCA PARTY? I mean talk about your hindsight is 20/20. A mortgage payment would have been a small price to pay to spend the night hobnobbing with the likes of J.J. Abrams, Joss Whedon, Lena Heady, Thomas Dekker, Summer Glau, Hugh Laurie, Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, Wentworth Miller, Brian Austin Green, Olivia Wilde… well you get the idea.

So a quick heads up friends. If you notice anything ‘wonky’ on theTVaddict.com throughout the day. And by ‘wonky’ I mean spelling and grammar mistakes above the usual levels. Please keep in mind that they’re simply a bi-product of the incredibly large amount of tears that are pouring down on my keyboard at this very moment.

Seriously, how did I NOT attend this party. I mean click the link below for more of what I missed.

10 Questions with BONES Star David Boreanaz

April 14th, 2008

david boreanaz

With BONES returning to FOX tonight at 8PM [GlobalTV in Canada] with the first of six brand new episodes, series star David Boreanaz was kind enough to take some time out of his busy schedule to chat it up with reporters about what fans can expect from the rest of the season, why BONES isn’t on the bubble and let’s face it, the one thing every BONES fan is dying to hear about — the aftershock from November’s big kiss.

1. On the creation of Booth as a character.
Well, I was given the pilot. I read the pilot and I created everything that you’re seeing on screen as far as that character is concerned, what you see physically. And it can’t happen without the words, obviously, but as far as the physicalities and as far as the belt buckle, all the stuff that you see is stuff that I brought to that character.

Everything that they told me about the FBI I threw out the door in a lot of ways. I respected it. I went through the idea of it. I took the approach of the military aspect of the guy working for the FBI rather than a guy who came right out of Harvard and he’s a penny loafer and pencil pusher guy who gets kicked around and who is afraid to get his feet wet.

For me, it was more interesting from that angle with the military guy who was a blue collar guy. And from there, everything exploded. So, you know, I highly, highly respect what they do. When it comes to using any kind of firearms or entries into buildings, I don’t mess around with. I do it as cleanly and as professionally as I can the way they would do it. I work with a great guy, Mike Grasso on the show who is with the LAPD who is fantastic so for me, that is very, very authentic to a T, but there is stuff, character stuff that I like to bring.

2. On his favorite things about Booth.
He’s a real blue collar guy which I’ve really embraced. So it’s been an interesting process with him and I embrace my socks because I wear the same socks. I embrace a lot of the stuff he does. Booth is, obviously, a little bit more Catholic than I am and I wish I was more of a practicing Catholic, but I’m not. I guess that would be one thing I dislike about myself sometimes is I’m not very religious.

Our New Hero: BONES Star David Boreanaz

December 5th, 2007

David Boreanaz

We’re not exactly sure if this is news to fans, but we at theTVaddict.com just came across yet another reason to cheer for BONES star David Boreanaz. David Boreanaz Is an “Angel for Animals”

Every day, millions of dogs are left chained and unattended in backyards across the U.S., shivering in the cold or panting from the heat, often with no more than a shoddy, makeshift shelter to protect them from the elements.

This Holiday season, why not help out one of our furry friends in need. For more info, visit helpinganimals.com. The TV Addict, and his trusty friend MAC thank you.
