Apparently, things aren’t as rosy as CW’s incessant press releases would have us believe. Due to a disappointing start, the CW network has decided to swap their Sunday and Monday night line-ups. The Curse of the EVERWOOD cancellation has struck again (and yes, there is a curse). Here are the details from the official CW Press Release:
October 5, 2006 (Burbank, CA) - The CW is switching its Sunday and Monday nights of programming, effective October 9.
On October 9, The CW’s comedy block of “Everybody Hates Chris,” “All of Us,” “Girlfriends” and new series “The Game” will move to Monday from 8:00-10:00PM. The CW will rebroadcast each comedy’s season premiere on Monday, October 9, with original episodes returning on Monday, October 16.
Starting October 15, The CW’s new Sunday line-up will begin with an encore of the previous Wednesday’s “America’s Next Top Model” (7:00-8:00PM) followed by original episodes of “7th Heaven” (8:00-9:00PM) and freshman drama “Runaway” (9:00-10:00PM).
Last night was the official CW LAUNCH PARTY on the WB main lot in Burbank California. Sadly, it seems my invitation was lost in the mail, but check out some great photos.
According to my friends over at the new CW, here’s the official ‘blurb’ for the first episode of VERONICA MARS much anticipated third season. Mark your calendar, the episode, entitled “WELCOME WAGON” airs at 9pm on October 3 on the New CW.
Veronica (Kristen Bell) is in true form from the moment she and boyfriend Logan (Jason Dohring), along with close friends Wallace (Percy Daggs III) and Mac (Tina Majorino), set foot on the campus of Hearst College. Wallace enlists Veronica’s help when his new roommate, Piz (Chris Lowell), has all his belongings stolen. While working on Piz’s case, Veronica learns that the campus serial rapist has struck again. Meanwhile, Keith (Enrico Colantoni) runs into trouble while transporting a recently released convict across the country to reunite him with Kendall (guest star Charisma Carpenter, “Charmed”). Francis Capra, Ryan Hansen and Julie Gonzalo also star. John Kretchmer directed the episode written by Rob Thomas
For those of you anxiously awaiting the official launch of the NEW CW web site, head on over to cwtv.com to check it out. While I’m incredibly excited for some CW premieres, namely GILMORE GIRLS & VERONICA MARS, I can’t help but feel a little bitter everytime I think about the new CW schedule, and realize EVERWOOD’s not on it. Hopefully with the help of some serious therapy I’ll get through this difficult time. That, or Warner Bros. Television can get their act together and release seasons 2 through 4 on DVD.
Are you ready to become the Next American Id… I mean PUSSYCAT DOLL? The CW’s latest attempt to mimic the success of AMERICAN IDOL is entitled THE SEARCH FOR THE NEXT PUSSYCAT DOLL. And if you live in the Los Angeles area — and can sing — YOU could be a star. According to my friends at the CW, here’s what you need to know:
“THE SEARCH FOR THE NEXT PUSSYCAT DOLL” CONTINUES IN LOS ANGELES ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9 The CW Network continues its nationwide casting call for its upcoming reality series “The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll” (working title) in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 9 at CBS Studio Center (4024 Radford Avenue in Studio City) from 12:00-6:00 p.m. Slated to air during the 2006-07 broadcast season, one lucky woman will become the newest member added to the chart-topping pop group, the Pussycat Dolls. Under the guidance of The Pussycat Dolls creator and founder Robin Antin, selected young hopefuls will live together and have their singing ability, dance moves and sheer self-confidence put to the test in an eight-episode reality series.

The new CW Network is finally stepping into the digital age. The CW is partnering with MSN to premiere episodes from four of its fall-season prime-time series online and before their broadcast debuts.
Premiere episodes from AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL (Sept. 13), EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS (Sept. 24), SUPERNATURAL (Sept. 21), VERONICA MARS (Sept. 26) and the new CW drama RUNAWAY (Sept. 18) will be offered free and without commercial interruption on msn.com for one week before their on-air broadcast.
Naturally this TV addict will not be watching RUNAWAY in protest for EVERWOOD’s cancellation. Additionally, I’m not sure why networks keep partnering up with MSN? No doubt, MAC users will not be able to watch the video on MSN (Microsoft).
I have to be honest, everytime I see the new CW promo, there is a tinge of bitterness due to EVERWOOD’S cancellation. That said, it is always a little exciting knowing the new TV season is right around the corner. Check out the CW’s new promo below.
Okay, what’s going on here? An anonymous poster has led me to the image above. (Or click this link, but it may be taken down by the CW soon!) Clearly EVERWOOD was MEANT to be on the CW schedule - but was replaced by comedies and a REPEAT of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL. What is going on here??? The opening sentence says it all, “Returning for its fifth season, this acclaimed drama…..”
All I can say is, EVERWOOD FANS UNITE! Let the CW know of our disappointment. The power of blogs, message boards and fansites can’t be ignored. If you have a blog, make sure you express your opinion. Post away on your favourite board. It isn’t too late. The CW will hear us.
AQUAMAN seemed like a promising idea, that was yet another victim of the CW merger. Here is a unique opportunity to see the trailer for the AQUAMAN pilot. Personally, I think it looked really cool - but no doubt really expensive to produce. Check out the trailer by clicking here.
Well, the CW schedule is official, (you can check it out on the official CW web site http://cwtv.com) and I must admit, I’ve never been so disappointed with anything (TV releated) in my entire life. For most of my life, I’ve been pretty lucky. I’ve never had a beloved show ripped away from me before its time. Most of my favourites had nice long runs. Sure there was the odd cancellation that upset me, Jack & Bobby, Grosse Pointe, Models Inc. to name a few - but overall I was happy and lucky (I never watched Angel!).
