THREE RIVERS
According to the official CBS description: THREE RIVERS is a medical drama that goes inside the emotionally complex lives of organ donors, the recipients and the surgeons at the preeminent transplant hospital in the country where every moment counts.

According to this TV Addict: With apologies to his legions of dedicated, passionate and very vocal fanbase, Alex O’Loughlin deserves far better than a re-tread of a failed TNT medical drama (see: HEARTLAND starring EVERWOOD alum Treat Williams)

ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE
According to the official CBS description: ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE is a comedy starring Golden Globe Award winner Jenna Elfman as Billie, a single woman who finds herself ‘accidentally’ pregnant after a one-night stand with a much younger guy, and decides to keep the baby and the guy.

According to this TV Addict: It’s KNOCKED UP the series! Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Especially when you surround the immensely likable Jenna Elfman with THE DAILY SHOW’s Larry Wilmore and UGLY BETTY’s criminally underused Ashley Jensen (Who we’re fairly confident saw more screen time in the above two minute preview than she did for most of BETTY’s third season.)

THE GOOD WIFE
According to the official CBS description: THE GOOD WIFE is a drama starring Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies as a wife and mother who must assume full responsibility for her family and re-enter the workforce after her husband’s very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail.

According to this TV Addict: Turning this run-of-the-mill legal procedural from good to great is the supporting cast which includes GILMORE GIRLS’ Matt Czuchry and SPORTS NIGHT’s Josh Charles.

NCIS: LOS ANGELES
According to the official CBS description: NCIS: LOS ANGELES is a drama about the high stakes world of undercover surveillance at the Office of Special Projects (OSP), a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the nation’s security.

According to this TV Addict: ZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzz.

It’s May, which in case you didn’t know in TV land is kind of a big deal. Not only does it signify the end of the official television season, with the big five networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and the CW) beginning to roll out their big finales (see: our May 2009 calendar.) It also just so happens to be the start of something new. With next week marking the official start of the 2009 UpFronts where ABC, CBS, FOX, CW and NBC will unveil their fall schedule to advertisers at their annual UpFront Presentation.

But before they do, theTVAddict.com editorial team, led by our very own Ken-Tucker-in-training Aleks Chan will be posting our wish list for what we’d like to see announced.

Steady as she goes over at CBS, with its procedurals continuing to dominate in a crowded field (see: the season’s only bonafide hit THE MENTALIST) and its Monday night comedy lineup, led by THE BIG BANG THEORY, showing some serious strength against very stiff competition. CBS may not draw a lot of eyeballs in search of unconventional programming (or, under the age of 50), but when 12 of the top 20 shows (for the week ending on May 10, 2009) belong to the Tiffany network, who are we to argue with success?

What We’d Like to See:
An hour long drama that doesn’t involve some sort of weekly gruesome murder that may-or-may-not-be ripped from the headlines. But since that probably won’t happen, and if it did, would more likely then not be short-lived (see: SWINGTOWN), we’ll stick with trumpeting the comedic prowess of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE, the net’s best comedy next to HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and the underrated GARY UNMARRIED, which gets serious points from us for offering up a television rarity: Child actors (Ryan Malgarini and Kathryn Newton) that don’t have us wishing Gary was sterile.

What Will Probably Happen:
CBS will continue their conservative, albeit winning ways by using their already established hits to launch eerily similar ones. In the comedy department, expect CBS to use their most popular show, TWO AND A HALF MEN to help launch either the highly buzzed about Jenna Elfman vehicle ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE or the Jason Biggs starrer HAPPINESS ISN’T EVERYTHING. While on the drama front, fans of the aging and increasingly costly procedurals such as COLD CASE, THE UNIT and/or WITHOUT A TRACE should probably brace for one or two of them to vanish, you guessed it… without a trace in an effort to make room for Alex O’Loughlin, Juliana Margulies and/or Chris O’Donnell; All of whom have their very own produce-by-numbers CBS procedural waiting in the wings.

Here are five words this TV Addict never expected to write: Perez Hilton has a point.

In his recent post titled, ‘Vampires Are In’ the reigning queen of celebrity gossip sights the 3.5 million copies being printed for Stephanie Meyers fourth and final installment of the TWILIGHT series BREAKING DAWN, the upcoming September premiere of Alan Ball’s [SIX FEET UNDER] highly anticipated new HBO series TRUE BLOOD and the TWILIGHT movie set to hit the big screens in December as proof positive that vampires are the new boy wizards.

Leading us to wonder aloud — with interest in Vampires seemingly at an all-time high — could CBS have cancelled MOONLIGHT at a worse time?

Because this TV Addict really isn’t sure.
On the one hand it’s summer, which means there’s virtually nothing else on in terms of quality scripted television dramas.
Because this TV Addict really isn’t sure.

On the one hand it’s summer, which means there’s virtually nothing else on in terms of quality scripted television dramas. Also in SWINGTOWN’s favor is that it features MELROSE PLACE alum Grant Show sporting an awesome 70’s-porn-star-moustache and a series premiere that was compelling enough that I’m asking, “what happens next?”

On the other hand, was anyone else slightly perturbed with how quickly Susan and Bruce Miller threw caution to the wind and cast aside their oldest/dearest friends in order to sign up for this new and exciting lifestyle? Not to mention the far more pressing issue — the fact that SWINGTOWN is a series that CBS has relegated to the summer — meaning that it’s more than likely already cancelled in the minds of the proverbial Powers that Be. Thus should I really be investing my time into a show that’s sure to follow in MOONLIGHT and JERICHO’s footsteps?

With that in mind, please feel free to post away with whether or not you’ll be returning to SWINGTOWN next Thursday, what parent’s Susan and Bruce must have been smoking to name their kid B.J., and your prediction as to whether or not uptight neighbor Janet Thompson’s marriage is falling apart because she seems a little too attached to her best friend Susan! Yes, you know what I’m talking about!
