Your Favourite Thursday Night Comedy

April 6th, 2007

will arnettLast night NBC gave us new episdoes of THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SCRUBS and ANDY BARKER P.I.. Which begs the question, which was your favourite show last night and why?

This TV Addict’s pic: 30 ROCK, because Will Arnett (ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT’S Gob Bluth) is officially my new favourite television comedian. Only now, after re-watching the show for its second and third time (weekdays at 5:30 and midnight on CBC) am I fully appreciating the brilliance that was ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. Can we not get a Gob and Franklin spin-off?

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Star Returns to TV

February 26th, 2007

Are you Blue? Going through Franklin withdrawl? Miss the brilliant and hilarious antics of the Bluth Family? Why not tune into the new CBS hit sitcom RULES OF ENGAGEMENT.

Jessica Walters, better known to ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT fans as Lucille Bluth guest stars next Monday’s episode (March 5, 9:30PM CBS). It seems as though Ms. Walters is very interested in David Spade. First Heather Locklear, now Jessica Walters — how does Spade do it! For a preview, click here to head on over to theTVaddict.com Screening Room.

CBC Arrested?

October 11th, 2006

According to my super-secret-source inside the CBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is rumoured to be replacing FRASIER reruns with ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT in early 2007. This is great news for fellow Canadians who won’t have access to the episodes that will soon be airing on MSN (Canadian/International and MAC users have no access to all of MSN’s content). It’s nice to see my tax dollars finally paying for a show that I’m interested in watching! (CBC is funded by the government of Canada.)

Thanks to Mark S for the Tip!

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT on DVD

August 29th, 2006

The final season of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is available today on DVD. Amazon.com has the DVD on sale for the amazing price of $19.99. Click here to check it out

Canadians, HMV is having a door crasher today, selling the DVD for $21.99. Knowing HMV, the price will shoot up tomorrow to at least 30 bucks, so get it today!

If you missed the ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT bandwagon (and according to Neilson Ratings, the entire country did!) – I can’t stress enough how funny the show is. Start with Season 1, which is also available, give it a few episodes and you’ll find yourself hooked. Admittedly, it took me a few episodes to really ‘get’ the brilliance – but if you hang in there, you will fall in love with television’s most dysfunctional (and funny) family.

Weeds Online

August 15th, 2006

If you missed last night’s season premiere of WEEDS you can catch it online for the next week for free (Courtesty of MSN Video). Of course there is a catch, and once again, us noble MAC users are left with nothing. It seems you can only watch MSN video if you have Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and Microsoft Media Player 10, which naturally aren’t available to MAC users. Let’s hope MSN changes teir strategy when they start airing ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT in September, or else there are going to be a lot of angry MAC users out there.

Arrested Development Returns to TV!

July 26th, 2006

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT — the recently cancelled brilliantly funny comedy on FOX, has been sold to both the internet portal MSN and cable networks HDNet and G4 in a syndication deal announced today. The deal marks the first time a web site has purchased a TV series for online syndication. Apparently, the series will be made available to MSN subscribers for Free! (D’OH, this TV addict doesn’t subscribe!).

Arrested Development: The Movie?

July 10th, 2006

According to Ali Shawkat (Arrested Development’s kissing cousin Maeby), there is a good possibility we may see an ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT movie in the future. In an interview with TVGUIDE Shawkat had this to say:

TVGuide.com: Do you think there might be an Arrested movie at some point? The final episode implied as much when your character, Maeby, tried to sell the rights to the Bluth story to Ron Howard.

Shawkat: Mitch actually recently told us that there is a good possibility for a movie, and that he’s talking to Ron Howard about it.

Development Halted

March 28th, 2006

According to Variety ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT creator Mitch Hurwitz says he will not be continuing with the series, throwing a major — likely fatal — monkey wrench into attempts to keep the Emmy-winning laffer alive for a fourth season. Apparently, the deal for Arrested to air on Showtime was contingent on Hurwitz remaining with the show as showrunner. It looks like this may be the end for one of Television’s most brilliant comedies.

A Moment of Silence

February 10th, 2006

If you’re reading this, please take a moment of silence for the funniest show on TV. Arrested Development both brilliantly written and acted is ending it’s run tonight with a phenomenal block of 4 episodes (8-10pm on FOX).

Here’s hoping that America’s most dysphunctional family will find a home on Showtime sometime soon :)

Showtime, if you’re reading this (and no doubt you are!) a message: Pick up Arrested and you’ll earn a guaranteed 1 more subscriber.

The Problem with Veronica Mars

February 9th, 2006

Don’t get me wrong, I love everyone’s favorite spunky blond haired detective (not to be confused with Chloe on Smallville!) but I have one issue with the show. Sometimes, I have no idea what the hell is going on

As TVGuide’s Watercooler pointed out to me this morning, “Logan begins to charm the sophomore dungarees off Hannah, who just so happens to be the daughter of Neptune’s favorite plastic surgeon turned bogus “Logan stabbed Felix” tipster.”

VM is to complicated, too many characters, subplots and things to remember. I have a busy (TV) schedule, and I honestly have no idea what is going on between Weevil, Logan and the whole 905′er vs. Poor people storyline.

Generally I consider myself a pretty intelligent person, but even I can use a VM for Dummies guide!

A quick sidebar ramble: Do you ever think Alison Mack (Chloe from Smallville) is really pissed off that she wasn’t cast as Veronica Mars, instead of being stuck as Clark’s internal second choice?
