Christopher LaSalle (Lucas Black) may say that stars fall on Alabama at night, but tonight, stars are taking a detour to the Big Easy on NCIS: NEW ORLEANS. At the end of last season, the good guys became the bad guys (Lou Diamond Phillips as the homicidal Deputy Chief) and vice versa (Tom Arnold’s hacker alter ego, Elvis). The investigation saved the mayor’s life but almost cost Pride his.
Ellen Hollman returns for tonight’s Season 5 opener as Amelia Parsons, the person last seen pumping bullets into Dwayne’s (Scott Bakula) chest as the season 4 finale closed out. Picking up moments after the assassination attempt, Chris goes in pursuit of Amelia while the NCIS: NEW ORLEANS team rallies to help their fallen leader.
As Pride fights for his life in ICU, daughter Laurel (recurring guest star, Shanley Caswell) and girlfriend, Rita Devereaux, (recurring guest star, Chelsea Field, aka real-life Mrs. Scott Bakula), arrive in the Crescent City to be near the man they love.
This experience will have a profound affect on Dwayne and, as he heals, he will continue to reevaluate his life. Expect some changes and character expansion as he resolves his visit to death’s door.
Pride’s changes also will affect the team and provide a path for new cast additions for Season 5.
Season 4 guest star, Necar Zadegan, (GIRLFRIENDS’ GUIDE TO DIVORCE) returns, now as a series regular, as Special Agent Hannah Khoury, who fills in for Pride during his recovery. Khoury will be sticking around after the arc to assist the dwindling team after last season’s departure of Sonya Percy.
Also slated to join the team is Reggie Lee, GRIMM’s delightfully funny Sergeant Wu, as Steven Thompson, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, and a situation sure to bring conflict and humor as Lee definitely can bring the snark.
And if that is not enough star power, none other than Executive Producer, Mark Harmon, NCIS’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs, also drops by NOLA tonight to check on his buddy, Pride. “See You Soon” was written by showrunner, Christopher Silber, and was directed by James Hayman.
NCIS: NEW ORLEANS airs tonight (September 25) at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
