We Cast ABC’s CHARLIE’S ANGELS Reboot

As the saying goes. “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” Which is why — rather than bemoan the news that ABC is close to green-lighting CHARLIE’S ANGELS, another re-imagination of an iconic 70’s franchise, we thought we’d have a little fun by throwing in our two cents. After-all, if there’s one thing Hollywood loves more than an already established franchise: It’s securing big name stars to help promote the show.

CHARLIE’S ANGELS “For the love-of-God we’d give anything to see these small screen favorites put the brakes on forgettable romantic comedies and return to the medium that made them a star” EDITION: Kristen Bell (VERONICA MARS), Rachel Bilson (THE OC), and Claire Danes (MY SO-CALLED LIFE).


CHARLIE’S ANGELS “Three talents who never got enough screen time” EDITION: Sarah Drew (EVERWOOD), Liza Weil (GILMORE GIRLS), and Keri Lynn Pratt (JACK & BOBBY). With Tom Amandes (EVERWOOD) as Bosley.

CHARLIE’S ANGELS “We swear this is not just a massive pander for some Whedonesque link love, seriously, these three Whedon vets would make awesome angels” EDITION: Felicia Day (DOLLHOUSE), Amy Acker (DOLLHOUSE) and Dichen Lachman (DOLLHOUSE). With Harry Lennix (DOLLHOUSE) as Bosley.

CHARLIE’S ANGELS “BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, just because” EDITION: Tricia Helfer, Grace Park and Katee Sackhoff. With Edward James Olmos as Bosley.

CHARLIE’S ANGELS “JJ Abrams is our constant” EDITION: Keri Russell (FELICITY), Jennifer Garner (ALIAS) and Merrin Dungey (ALIAS). With SpyDaddy Victor Garber (ALIAS) as Bosley.

  • None of these girls work for me, in fact have already cast the new Angel's. I would have Jaclyn Smith as Bosley, Drew Barrymore, Zoe Saldena and Ellen Page as Cameron Diaz's younger sister. If nbt Ellen Page as the younger sister, I would like to see Elisha Cuthbert. Keep using John Forsythe's voice as Charlie.

    I'm definitely a fan of the K Bell & R Bilson pairing, but I'd switch Claire Danes for either Amber Tamblyn or Miracle Laurie. Lets have some 'real' women on there too! Kristen and Rachel are such little tiny ladies - love them both but they don't exactly scream 'tough chics'.

    Belonging made me a serious Dichen fangirl. She should have been the lead in Dollhouse.
  • I laughed my behind off at, "JJ Abrams is our constant”. But my fave of the suggestions is Bell-Bilson-Danes.

    Now with some of the tweaks others suggested, I could be persuaded. Gellar-Bilson-Bell is my fave.

    Katie Holmes? No, "other Nick," I'm holding out for the new reality series: TOM & KATE, PLUS 8 SCIENTOLOGY MIND-CONTROL BODYGUARDS. (I should actually copyright that idea, as you KNOW it'd be a smash hit.)

    Any show that puts Keri Russell, Sarah Michelle Gellar & Eliza Dushku together is a no-brainer. C'mon, CW, get with it and develop something for these popular FEMALE icons.

    Noo, this is not a good idea. Leave it to Drew Barrymore, I really don't want a series this soon after the movies. If feels way too soon for this.

    I'm trying to think of a reboot that actually worked. Besides 90210 (which I wouldn't consider a reboot but a next generation idea). Has there been any successful reboots lately? All I can think of is Bionic Woman and Knight Rider. . and I would have hoped the networks would have learned from those two.

    I think all of the above suggestions SUCK. No teeny-boppers need to be Angels. They need to cast real Women, not CW/WB soap stars. First of , they probably will NOT go with big names. maybe one.

    My suggestions are: Kelly Carlson, Eva Mendez, Evangeline Lilly

    The Bell-Bilson-Danes (though Danes could be recasted for perhaps Hilarie Burton?, it would fit better with the other B's :P) would be my dream (plus leading ladies of my three favorite shows) come true. Talking about hottest show potential.
