Emmy Predictions 2009: Outstanding Actor in a Drama

September 17th, 2009

In anticipation of Sunday’s EMMY Awards airing on CBS at 8PM, theTVaddict.com is proud [or not-so-proud depending on how things turn out] to once again present our GUARANTEED EMMY WINNERS 2009*

bestactoremmydramacomedy

SHOULD WIN: HUGH LAURIE
After single-handedly creating the brilliant but cantankerous doctor/lawyer/cop genre you’d think an Emmy would be a given, right? Well, after three nominations, Laurie has yet to go home a winner. No wonder he’s so angry.

WILL WIN: JON HAMM
Since the Emmy Awards for ‘Best Hair’ were already given out at the Kathy Griffin hosted Schmemmys last week, we predict with apologies in advance to Simon Baker that Hamm walks away a winner. Women love him, men want to be him and we have a feeling that yeah, Hollywood hearts Hamm.

SNUBBED: EDWARD JAMES OLMOS
So say we all.

*theTVaddict.com does not guarantee his “winning picks.” Do not, I repeat, Do not bet the house, kids or family pet on them!

Sometimes it seems like instead of giving the award the guy who should win it that year they give it to a guy who is owed it from years before when he was snubbed even though that particular season was a down one. Just wait, Hugh Laurie will end up with the award in a couple years coming off a bland season while a new guy coming off a good year will not get it. The cycle of life.

jame Says:

Josh Emerson Says:

Michael C. Hall is my pick. He is brilliant on Dexter and still hasn’t received an Emmy for it.

bws Says:

Want: Michael C. Hall

Should… I don’t know. I’ve only seen 2/6 performances. I suppose Hugh should win just so he can get his first. EMMY does like to award retroactive achievement awards frequently.

TVFan Says:

Should: Michael C. Hall
Will: Bryan Cranston

LB Says:

I keep waiting for Michael C. Hall to get his recognition…hope it happens soon!! I would be happy if Jon Hamm won, though.

Viviane Says:

Simon Baker deserve to win the Emmy.

Stacy Says:

John Hamm

Boffle Says:

Hugh Laurie, absolutely. Always interesting, powerful, affecting performances. Best ever. Oh and this is his fourth nom. He’s way overdue but even so, this was an amazing season. So moving but without compromising or dumbing down. Wholly original.

Vicks Says:

Michael C Hall

Vane Says:

Oh come on! Hugh Laurie deserves this award!!! After 4 nominations (this year is the 4th nom) he HAS to win!!! House M.D is the TV Series most watched around the world!!! Dont you believe it? Try surfing on the internet to look at this…!!!

Karamel Says:
