I was so surprised by this show. I thought it would be another bad adaptation, but I was so happy to see that it wasn’t. The only bad thing that I have to say is that there are some one-dimensional characters that just repeat the same jokes over and over again (i.e. Chastity and the girls’ dad). And the fast-pace actually suits this kind of show and makes it feel more like a movie, which is definitely nice.

I think that anyone who loved the movie would also love the tv show. They’re two separate things, but both are enjoyable and entertaining for the same audience.

How about a column on the “10 Things I Hate About Michael Jackson Coverage.” I could fill a book, from the opportunistic celebrity publicity stunts, to the idiotic comments by brother Jermaine, to the money-grubbing parents, to the upcoming made-for-TV custody battle, to the Liz-Liza-Jesse-Sharpton “let’s make a fool of ourselves” quotes of the day, to the sudden public outpouring for a (let’s face it) freakshow known as much for his weird attraction to little boys as his music.

Gotta hand it to that congressman from NY who called a spade a spade.

I’m looking forward to watching this tonight. It seems exactly like what summer TV should be…light and fun (like Royal Pains has been).
