Good News, Bad News: VIRTUALITY, Rachel Dratch & the CW Fall Sked
May 8th, 2009
Good News: Fans will get a first taste of Ronald D. Moore’s much buzzed about two-hour pilot VIRTUALITY when FOX unveils it on July 4th. Bad News: Fan’s first taste will also most likely be their last, considering it’s rarely a good sign when a network decides to dump premiere a series on the one night of the year when most of the country is pretty much guaranteed to be outside, hot dog in hand, celebrating America’s birth. Good News: The always hilarious Rachel Dratch returned to television this week. Bad News: Cementing her status as the female Rodney Dangerfield, playing second banana yet again to fellow SNL alum Amy Poehler in a LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON sketch. [Video]
Good News: The CW’s fall sked is shaping up rather nicely, with the rumor du jour calling THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE (Misha Barton’s MODELS INC re-boot), MELROSE PLACE and VAMPIRE DIARIES (or as we’re calling it, TWILIGHT: The Series) virtual locks for the fall. Bad News: For some of our TV Addict favorites, with no mention being made of the new Jason Dohring/ Minka Kelly/ Brian Austin Green vehicle THE BODY POLITIC and the Brittany Snow/ Krysten Ritter/ Ryan Hansen GOSSIP GIRL spin-off. I can’t argue with those 3 CW “locks”…all sound fantastic. Unfortunately, the network had too many quality pilots and not enough holes for everything. Still hoping Privileged eeks onto the sked. Shocked that the Gossip Girl spinoff may not happen; the ’80s thing really looked fun.
Someone please tell me why I’m not seeing Rachel Dratch every week on TV? One of the funniest ladies EVER….think maybe she could boost a comedy series, oh, just a “hair?”
